Well since we have a RTT on the way I guess I better whip up a bed rack this week. Thinkin I'll do the new "diet" version I've been thinking about, then I can test it out.

    Right!
Yeah there will be a couple r tts out there. And good news for the rtt guys that get there early enough will get a flat cement slab to park on to be level

Nope. The wifey wants to come, and with having an access cab, fitting two 6' teenagers in the back seat for 5 hours would probably permanently cripple them. Plus my gas mileage would be at about 3 mpg.

I was thinking of picking up 2 of those smaller bed racks you sell that are just one bar. 2 of those would be a really light way to mount the RTT, and easier to fab up.

You could go that route. Honestly, I would probably see Andrew for that, he's local and more than capable of bangin something like that out for you. Tube material is his bitch.
I'm not one to turn down business but in this case that's probably your best bet and will likely save you a few bucks.
Whatever route you choose is cool, we both got your back

Roger that, I appreciate the honesty. I'm going to keep beating up my current $150 rack until it dies or I roll the truck. It's holding well, and I like how it gives me more clearance under the tent and better visibility out the back window. Plus I have a higher vantage point from inside the tent, adding to the view. It kills my mileage by 20% when the RTT is installed, but I'm ok with that :)

I didn't realize how far south this place is. Hopefully there isn't any homies crossing the border lol

You never know to be honest. That or the coyotes passing through.

Some times in the year, you'll spot some zombies.
