no a 6 lugger. That was 99% highway miles. I drive 70 miles a day flat level highway to work. once I get these big tires moving its easy to keep em moving, stopping and starting is what kills mpg's when you add bigger tires. Before I lifted it the trip from home to work was 77.2 miles now the exact same trip on my odometer is only 70.0 miles (with the bigger tires) so if I add in the size of my tires to the calculation for mpg's Im actually not doing that bad. However Iv had of the last couple days and driving around town shopping or running errands... my gas mileage has not been as good..... not even close.... Another perk of the bigger tires is that is keeps it in warranty longer.... Ill max out the miles before the years run up.

We'll check your calculation because stock Dunlop's on a 6 are 30.5" tall. Also, are you 4x4 or Prerunner?

My very first tank of gas on a new 2014 Tacoma reg cab 4x4 auto trans mixed driving netted me 22 MPG. Not bad but not as good as my old 2.4L.

Nice results TacoGlenn, and they will probably get better over the next 10K miles.

    Enjoy your ride

I've got a 2014 reg cab with 33's as well and I've noticed it fluctuates a ton depending on how bad traffic is. I've gotten as good as 20 in 100% city driving and as bad as 17. Also I got 26 mpg on a highway trip when I was driving from Nashville to The beach, but that was probably due to the constant decline in elevation. These 4 cyls definitely make up for their lack of muscle in the mpg department. I had an FJ that got 12-13 city previously.

Just got back from a little camping trip to The UP. My 2014 Reg Cab 4x4 now has 2000 miles. Last three tanks MPG:
    24.1
    25.3
    25.9

The 25.9 was all highway with the cruise set about 70. I am pleased with this truck. I got into some muddy fire roads up in The UP (damn beavers) and this little motor just tractored along no problems,,,,,,

Update: now at 15k miles, still getting 23.5 mixed city/hwy. No change from the day I bought it. I think the "break-in" thing is a myth, at least as regards MPG.

The one nothin' but freeway trip I did (SD/Vegas) I pulled about 29.5.

Wish this vehicle could be easily converted to buckets from the bench, but the airbag issue seems to be insurmountable (I'm not giving up my side seatbags).

I have 2014 4x4, 5-speed manual regular cab that i got two months ago in August. I am very pleased with the mileage because i thought the Tacoma would be like most vehicles I have had in the past that struggle to get their rated economy, let alone exceed it. My Tacoma will probably hit 3,000 miles today.

I live in the country so I only do about maybe 10 to 20 percent city driving, with the rest being a mix of 45 to 50 mph on county roads or 55 to 70 mph on highways. Like most vehicles the Tacoma seems to do best economy-wise on the two lane highways at 55-60. On one 300 mile round trip exclusively on those types of roads I got 25.7 mpg. With the mix of driving I do on most tanks I am coming in between 24 and 25 mpg, with 24 - 24.5 more common than 24.5-25.

Compared to my previous full-size 4x4 truck I am saving a $100 bill every month on gas.

2002 single cab K&N air filter NGK spark plugs. I tested to see if cleaning my filter would make a difference in gas mileage and boy did it! I'm a pool guy so I always have a load in my truck with a weight from 300-400lbs some times more. My driving consists of 90% city driving. Here are my results.
