Both of my vatozone batteries have been good for AZ. I don't expect more then 3 years of life on a battery out here. I've also heard that optima batteries aren't built the same anymore. Any truth to that rumor?

Probably just going to do the same next time
I dont know. I have heard things about them but who knows how much truth is behind it

Oh right on. A battery is a battery in AZ at the end of the day. They will shit on you sooner than later.

Not sure about the rumors of Optima batteries.

Had one in my previous truck (Silverado) and it lasted 3+ years before I sold it.

Also have two of them in the boat and seem to do just fine, considering they sit in the heat all week and then go on the lake and play music for 8 hours and then start the boat.

Yeah but I dont deal with the "az" heat like you guys. Im up in show low. Its pretty mild temps except for winter when we get bellow 20 degrees. So for the most part im ok. This battery was the stock one that came in the truck so over 3 1/2 years on the toyota one was good to me.

They changed plant locations to Mexico due to employee's trying to unionize. Used to get 3-5 years out of one, get about 3 now. Which seems to be the normal rate for any battery. They are just a little pricey at $165 cost.

    Fuck Optima!
They used to be great batteries when they were made in the US. When they moved their production to Mexico their quality went down. I went through 3 Optimas within 3 years or so.

They're a piece of shit on a good day....

    DieHard Platinum ;)

    Right on.

I am getting quite the criticism for having an Optima battery in my old truck. hahaha

I am pretty sure I have a Toyota battery in the taco.

All I know is I haven't had to put one in it.

DieHard or Odyssey for sure. Some Interstate batteries are good to, they came out with a competitor to the Odyssey, have not check one out or tested on yet though

    Neither.

Either save up and get wheels that you want, or just keep them they way they are.

Plastidip wheels are fucking gay. :sorry:

I have gone through 5 Toyota batteries in 8 years. The longest one lasted was just over two years. The shortest one lasted was under a year. My current battery has been on for almost 2 years. Only paid for a battery once and that was half price because it was just over 2 years old. The rest have been free. Toyota batteries suck, but I'll use it until I have to pay for a battery.

If you had gone to Toyota to get it warrantied, you would have paid half price.
    0-2 is free replacement.
2-4 years is half price replacement cost.
