Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
New hauling setup. No more straps!

Below is the part that is permanently mounted to the trailer.

Pitbull Trailer Restraint System. Took it for about a 60 mile pull on Saturday. Rock solid. Takes less than 5 minutes to load or unload. Absolutely no additional attachment points necessary. Highly recommend.

...and a pic of a bridge I found

That's awesome and nice bike! I wish I had the money to buy a trailer and a sweet little setup like that. It's a pain in the ass taking off my camper, putting the bike in the back, strapping it down and then having to drive back to the location to pick up my camper.

Thank you. I used to dread having to haul the bike anywhere...now it's literally no sweat (to the point that I can see myself regularly hauling to the great riding areas here, rather than slabbing). The TRS is a bit pricey, but I think I looked at some Condor chocks that were in the neighborhood price wise and still required the usage of straps. I had a bad experience with some nylon straps marring up my triple tree a bit on one haul to the dealership which is 50 miles from me and that's what started my search for alternative methods. Considered some canyon dancers and a few other methods, but extremely happy with the Pitbull product.

How much do y'all typically get charged to install a new tire?

The one and only bike shop here charges $60 labor per tire...

    Sounds much more reasonable.

One of my buddies is wanting some of us to go in a tire changing setup that we can all use, that way we stop getting screwed over paying so much.
    Costs the same either way.

I've never gone there for tires, mine only have 1,800 miles on them. But that's their labor charge per tire...

Ouch! There are a number of shops around me that will do it for $25 per tire if you bring the wheel in off the bike. One small shop, that tends to match online prices, will mount for free if you buy the tires from them.

They will price match certain websites which is nice. They're just terrible about overcharging for labor because they know they can get away with it...

I just got mine mounted, took the wheels up and brought them up. Bought tires online. When I was calling around prices were all over the place. Most expensive was around $125 for two tires (had to ask them if they knew I didn't need the tires), cheapest was $25 a tire.

Oh and no pic but I ride a 07 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1600. Maroon and Tan/Silver, picked it up last year with around 2k miles on it from a nice lady who found out it was too big for her. Being in Texas I wanted liquid cooled and fuel injected since my last bike (suzuki bandit) was air cooled and carbureted. Love it, going for a ride Saturday with a buddy to Possum Kingdom lake and back.

    Here's my bike:

'74 Yamaha TX650A. The non-stock modifications are all my fault. :)

Earlier this summer I rode it to a few out-of-state Toyota dealers... When I finally bought my (first new ever) Tacoma, the salesman asked me what arrangements I had for coming to pick it up the following week.

I told him I'd ride my bike up. He asked how I'd get the bike home. I paused, looked at him for a beat, and said...

"Dude. Seriously. I just bought a truck."

I showed up two days later with tie-downs in my backpack. Got a guy from the parts counter to help me lift the ol' girl into the bed, and set out to enjoy my first drive in the new truck: 52 miles home on the freeway with my bike in the back.

Get the tire changer and balancer.... and save money from here on out.

No-Mar is a great brand that alot of my friends use.

I only bought the balancer; I only have dirt bikes and enduros.... tires are easy enough to spoon-on. For wider sport and cruiser tires, a tire changer would be needed.

60 a tire? what the fuck? tell me you are talking the tire/rim off the bike first.

I swear the local places here are like 10-15 bucks if you bring it in off the bike

Only local bike shop. Which is why many of us are planning on going in on a tire changer together for next season.

Thats how much it is here as well. Even if taking the rim off. But a local ex-racer has a shop setup that he does them for 50 if you bring the bike, 25 off the bike
