Agreed. It's just a greasy fast food chain that tries to act like it's not. I don't see why anyone would get excited by it.

I was within 10 yards of him during bow season. Oh well haha. At least the weather changed. Lot of deer this evening, just none with antlers.

I have one of the Filson's Oil Tin Hat:
Requires constant Mink Oil applied to be somewhat effective for 2hrs, meaning the seams leak.

I use Frogg Toggs Upper/Lower with Muck Arctic Sport Boots.

I have had the tin hat and tin pants in the past. They both worked well for me in some pretty good rain. If you spend enough time in constant rain they really aren't a substitute for rubber rain gear but they do work nicely in sporadic wet conditions.

    Haha..

I've got a Tin Cloth jacket. Actually, it's got a tear that I'm planning on either sending down, or dropping off at Filson in Seattle.

For what I spent on it, I don't wear it when I know it's going to get dirty.

Is it waterproof? It was, but I've got to re-wax mine.

Am I happy with it? Yes. The quality is awesome, and it looks "unique".

The best raingear hands down is the "Gage" stuff made by Grundens. Same caliber as most of the high end stuff, at about 1/2 the price. It's what I wear on deck - diehard fan.

    Lemme know what you think.

I love my gortex jackets and pants. But, it might be only because I have worn them for 12 years.

Will it keep repelling water if you're getting constantly dumped on?

I spend a lot of time at work in stands of trees that are 15ish years old, which means they have full limbs all the way to the ground, and 400-700 trees per acre. Pretty tightly packed and when it rains they hold alot of water which promptly soaks a guy the instant he touches a tree. The rain gear will have to hold up to that, plus rain, plus going through the brush. The other problem is that I can easily spend 6+ hours straight walking all over 70* slopes, we don't have a lot of flat land. The problem is finding a truly waterproof setup that I won't get soaked from sweat in.

Gage is the name! I've heard of them, but couldn't remember the name. Definitely heard good things about them.

That's not what I wanted to hear haha. It will be for use in pretty constant rain.

How much do you sweat in them if you're really active?

I don't much. I don't wear the thick stuff, no more than a long sleeved shirt under them. And I'm talking Kansas rain/wind/heat.

If you really want to be waterproof and bulletproof...

Get the Grundens or Guy Cotton PVC gear

So a poodle just wandered into my shop, just about scared the bejesus out of me!

Called the humane society, he's incredibly well behaved - just hanging out in the living room. I'd hate to let him go and get hit by a car, he seems slightly dis-oriented.
