Much why I asked the same on last page vs Larue. I feel like JH ignored me dammit.

 

Ive built several PSA rifles using their lowers and they hav all been fine.

I read yesterday that their lowers are made by Aero but PSA has their roll-mark and finish on them. Aero's roll marked lowers have more of a glossy finish where PSA's are a little more "matte". Both are good to go though.

In the process of building another or so .300

 

I'm still deciding between .300 and 5.56

 

A very discussed decision for many. As they both have their assets based on the shooters needs, I am looking at it as the best SBR and suppressed option.
It will never replace my 5.56's but, having far too much fun with them.
My biggest issue is trying to handload a better round thn what I have purchased off the shelves.

 

I have access to reloading dies for either. Most of the use of this rifle will be perforating cars lol

I got a Slikes complete lower at my local gun store for $270 after tax. It's not magpul, but that's oaky since I don't have to bother with FFL. I'm very happy with it, but it would have been even better if it came with magpul.

Do a lot of research. Go to the AR forums..but be careful there are a lot of snobs there who are only interested in builds that run $1500 and up.

You can build a fully functional, reliable and accurate rifle/pistol for $600 if you are patient and wait for sales. There are normally many deals to be had on parts and complete rifles on Black Friday.

Back in Nov of 13 a guy at a range in Southern Md put one of these to his shoulder and was arrested by a US Marshall who was shooting in the lane next to him.(But I have heard conflicting reports that a few people said he had a vertical grip on it) This may be what the game changer was.

I know that since this happened there has been clarification on shouldering these weapons that it is not classified an SBR.

 

I know that Palmetto State Armory use FN barrels on a lot of their builds.

They have been making lowers and parts for years for other manufactures.

 

Do it. BCM makes excellent Rifles and parts. I have a 16" middy that is my baby.

The 20" is a PSA upper and lower with a troy rail.

Yeah Spikes has a lower with a Pirate Flag on it, and I went to ECU so I kinda want it, but the complete lower is double the price. If I was more handy I would just get the stripped lower.

 

They are pretty simple to put together. I used a pair of vise grips and a razor blade and a punch to assemble my first lower. Thats still pretty much what I use now..haha
