Ive got 4 people that would disagree with you.... and doing the front diff sucks period... whoever shoved that thing in there needs to be conked on the head with a set of gears....

 

SAS it makes it a whole lot easier to change and check diff.fluid

 

Well, when its all cooked and old...its not as nice but brand new and changed at proper increments it smells like freedom to me. I love changing fluids.

 

My front diff drain plug wouldn't come out had to get toyota to do it I was afraid to strip it which they did but got it out some how. Maybe it was the fill plug which ever one is the Allen key plug

 

if there was a way to SAS the truck without lifting it 4-6 inches in the process id be all over it....

yep, front diff has those stupid 10MM hex plugs... makes about as much sense as shoving everything that tight in there in the first place

 

Found a sas'ed 1st gen down in NC but pretty sure it wouldnt pass Md. inspection there is a shortage of 1st gens thanks to frame issues or people keep them forever

 

Saw one on craigslist today for $5500 and 275k v6 4x4

Check wessels used cars in dillsburg, pa. They usually have a few tacomas and it's on rt15 so not an excessive drive for you

That's true they are kinda pricey I've been looking at a corolla they have but it's seems like 1000 more than it needs to be

I think the first gens do better in the wheeling and cost savings department, as anything for them costs half as much as it does for a second gen truck, but the second gens have more room and drive better

 

Found 1in Reading on loosnut suggestion but they want 17grand but it only has 46k miles and it was a green dblc but a little to pricey

Think you could talk them down at all? 46k is damn good.. That's practically brand new for a Toyota.

 

Dont know but hell I only paid that for mine when I got it in 2004 with 65k
