    September 27th 2011,

I had blown up the transmission in my Celica I had at the time and I was staying at my mothers house to get back and forth to work. I borrowed her car and was on my way out to my fathers to work on the Celica. I came to a red light and stopped started playing with the radio (mom listens to crappy music) and the light turned green. I let off the brake (clutch still to the floor) and began rolling, I didn't clue into the fact that I was rolling.. and bumped the guy in front of me.

We get out of the cars and were talking and exchange information. I scuffed his bumper, I literally could have buffed out the damage and it hardly be noticeable. I realize I did that to his car and it should be how it was before I bumped it so I offered to pay for the repair out of pocket instead of going through insurance, he said that he would get a quote and let me give him the cash because since I was freshly 18 at the time it would really screw me over with my insurance. I thought that was pretty awesome of him.

The next day my mom got a call from her insurance company (same as mine) saying someone had put a claim through.. Well.. He got his car fixed and everything's dandy.. My insurance company wouldn't insure me anymore because I had been driving less than 3 years and I had an at fault accident. And my new company was 2 times more expensive. Mom's insurance went up 500 bucks. Cool, things are starting to even out now.

3 and a half years later my mom gets a knock on her door and it's an insurance adjuster wanting to look at her car.. The guy is now claiming injury. I SCUFFED THE PAINT.

I honestly think he's an ignorant asshole.

What do you guys think of the situation? Is my insurance going to go up again? I already pay 3200 dollars a year on my truck and can't handle much more than that..

I know.. I didn't mean to, if that counts for anything. Either way I think he's ignorant for doing it.

I thought you were going to bed?!
Yeah, I have full coverage on my truck. Not to mention one speeding ticket and that accident.

My dad pays less for his house, two cars and a bike.

I'm hoping when it renews it'll drop. since by then it'll be a little over 4 years, and I'm 21 now. My truck costs me 625 a month after the payment and insurance.

Yeah. That's what I'm saying. I don't understand, I literally scuffed his bumper. When he got out of the car (it was a Honda insight) he had some sort of death metal cranked to the max. He said I scared him more than anything. I'm sorry but if I injured you from that little love tap you need to grab a rag and wipe the sand out of your vagina. (No offence towards women.. Its a saying, I swear)

when my boy had his temps he hit some woman and barely caused damage. Our insurance covered her repair. She then tried suing the insurance company cause she said she had a neck injury etc..They found out very quickly she was full of it. Don't worry about it. Insurance people aren't dumb.

Me and my mom aren't with the same company anymore either.

I hope he doesn't get anything. I wish I still had pictures of the cars. I'll take one of my moms (it didn't get fixed).

    Stock. Purchased 2/17/19. Cement!
Go find his ass and record him playing golf or whatever it is he does. Find him on Facebook (maybe his settings will let you see more of him). If he's caught in the act of doing something he's perfectly capable of, then file a report with the police for filing a fraudulent claim. IDK how it works where you live, but you have to stand up for what's right regardless of what the other person does or says. Good luck man. Sorry to hear of your situation. If it makes you feel any better, I think most of us have our own fender benders as young drivers.

Yeah its just the way she goes! Me and my sister both crashed tercels the first 3 weeks of having our licenses. Hahah i totalled mine though. Shit happens! I'm going to see how it develops. I can't remember his last name which is a bummer. Makes it harder to find him. How many Tobeys can there be?

He must have filed a police report to be able file the insurance claim. His full name will be on there.

The police never called or questioned me. Does that matter? Or do they assume that I agree with everything he's said?

He is just trying to play the system, the insurance company should be well prepared to deal with bull shit claims.

I'm not sure how things work in Canada but you could call police or insurance company and find out. Who decides whom is at fault? Certainly not the guy you hit! Good luck! Hope all works out for you.
