Okay my truck got backed into 4-5 weeks ago. I had a loaner 14 silverado for a couple weeks while they replaced my Box side, and rear door.. I must say after coming back into my truck I can believe how much road noise I hear. I am researching at the very least insulating the doors. I used a 3m product in the door that was replaced and its very heavy vinyl type of material. The back seat is much quieter. I will be buying stuff for the drivers door now and try to make it a little bit easier to commute with. I drive about 70-75 miles per day so lots of seat time.

What have all of you come up with besides ear plugs?

You guys saying your truck is perfectly quiet and don't hear any road noise need to get out and drive some of the new full size trucks. The Tacoma isn't unbearable by any stretch of the imagination but, even with the stock tires, you get a lot more wind and road noise than you do in some of the newer, sound-proofed cabs.

OP, if you want to seriously sound proof your cab, it involves tearing everything out, pulling up the carpet and headliner, soundproofing with some peel and stick and re-assembling.

Before I put MT tires on mine it was extremely quite. At 45 mph..... it's fucking loud but it's not the trucks fault.

I agree with the OP. I don't consider it annoyingly loud but it is definitely louder than some designs. I used to drive a 2010 Silverado 4x4 for work. I really didn't like it but it sure was smooth and quiet.

I've been in a Tacoma since 2003 but I believe it. The new full size trucks are much more luxury feeling.
