I have a 2006 Tacoma and was thinking about having leather installed. Has anyone else had this done? Cost? What brand of interior did you use? Does it look as good as factory leather?

Ive seen some people use a Katzkin cover kit. It replaces your cloth fabric. These kits have been on the market for a long time. Probably one of the best. Great fit and finish. You can either attempt it yourself or have a shop do it. Check out their site...

I will take a picture if I can tonight and show off my interior-interior... I am calling it that because my Tacoma's interior is in the living room right now. The seats make awesome movie-night seats. I even have the center console set up for beverage holding purposes.
oh, it is heated 2-tone perforated leather... cost was, a lot. about $1500 installed after tax

I would call the dealership and find out who they recomend to install the leather.
I bought my tacoma new and had leather and heated seats done. the dealership handeled it for me. it saved me over 1,000 over ordering a tacoma with leather.
the dealerships do this alot. that way if someone wants a truck or car with leather,
they don't have to order one. they can have it done. the leather is better quality, and there are more color options. i have a 2008 and have had zero trouble. i highly
recomend doing it. it is around 850 to 1,000. just call the dealerships in your area,
i know there is someone they can recommend.

When i bought mine leather wasn't an option from the factory or i would have gotten it... The cloth leaves water marks all over it when they get wet. I have a boat and everyone getting in with a wet suit happends almost every weekend in the summer... leaving me with many water marks on the front and rear seats... therefore I have been considering having leather installed.

Wasn't really a fan of the Sr5 fabric so I did the leather install.

I bought mine from this guy : http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/hydrahawk/

He gave me a 10% discount (didn't do the transaction on eBay). Very happy with it, me and a friend who has experience in upholstering did the install. Be careful when doing the armrests, make sure the screws don't go through the panel. I used a washer and some glue in the screw holes so they won't get loose.

I have a company pickup. It is a Ford but I bought some imitation leather seat covers from Clazzio.com. Granted they are not leather but they look like they are. I could not get the company to spring for the real thing. The Clazzios were about $425. I put them on in 4 hours. Not a bad alternative to leather. They fit amazingly well. Bring a shoe horn. You'll need it

I second this. In my area there is one shop that does the leather for most of the dealers, including carmax. I had it added as part of the deal for my truck and it looks great. When I called, they quoted me about $1200 for an access cab, a bit more for the double cab, and a few hundred bucks more if you wanted heated seats.
