so, i know hood scoops come standard on the x-runners...and i thought that was it, but i see them all over the place on the current design 4x2's, 4x4's, prerunners...what packages include the hood scoop (TRD? SR5?)? or is it an 06+ kinda thing?

    just curious :D

The TRD Sports package has the hood scoop, I'm sure you can prolly add them too.

The price of a hood with a scoop is the same as a non scoop hood. The additional cost is the piece that goes onto that scoop forming the opening (plastic grill plus rivits) etc. When my truck was hit by a deer who was j walking, I had the choice of replacing the damaged hood with original or hood with scoop. The additional cost of $180.00 was a bargain considering the insurance co was paying for the hood.

Alot of people don't like the hood scoop but i love them. And TRDeity is right, they are available on the TRD sport models. I have the off road pkg but i would love put the sport hood on my truck. I think it makes it look meaner.

I've seen a thread where the scoop was mod'ed to be functional. Appearance wise, it's on the money.

Then why spend the money on it???? Put the money towards an Air intake, exhaust system, or programmer!!
