Looks like you had a great day. Where's the picture of your dog? Gotta have more huntin' dog photos. Sure would love to come up your way for pheasant some day.

Pchop, looking closer, is that a duck you got in there? You said grouse and pheasant, but it looks like there's a duck there, also. ;)

    Ha, yeah.

There are alot of pothole ponds around here. My buddy didnt limit out on the pheasant or get any grouse. It was a target of opportunity for him. Duck season opened a couple weeks before pheasant so it was legal. Its a Shoveler.

I dont hunt ducks though. Mainly just upland birds, dove, snipe and quail as far as birds go. Wish we had more chucker, they are fun as hell to shoot. I prefer the grouse over the pheasant. I have been massacring them over the last couple weeks. Actually seen more of them than the pheasant for some reason....except opening day. I found a field that was loaded with brush and we walked one side about 1/2 mile and the other back. Must have jumped 300 birds. Freaking awesome. It was windy so I drove around looking for that kind of cover knowing they would be hunkered down in it.....and they were, THICK.

Now I am just waiting on the wing envelopes from Game and Fish (yes game first then fish, they're backwards here) for the grouse wings. I send them in for some research project they asked grouse hunters to do.
