Ha gotta cull the population. They're rampant around here!

Does anyone else lay their clothes outside the night before to get that "nature scent" in? We live in the boonies anyway, but I like to let everything air out the night before and then spray scent spray everything down right before walking into the woods

I only heard 4 shots all morning. Deer around here just don't have to move for anything with all the acorns on the ground. I don't expect to see much until the bucks start running does.

Finally saw a buck during shooting hours. I would just like to do better than one that is barely even a fork haha.

That shit is so unethical. I'm really glad it's illegal down here.

Still just archery season down here. I saw a lot of deer this morning. They were really moving. Had a really good 8pt in front of me for a bit, a little spike, another good buck about 100 yds out and a sure enough brute 300 yds away. I would've harpooned him in a heartbeat if he would've came in range.

Well I missed 2 today. Both times clean misses. And both my fault. But I'm finally see deer. Been a rough season until this week for me.

Well the thing is down here dog driving is a "heritage" but most of the people down here say they "hunt" but you find out its with dogs. Do I like to do that every now and then, sure, but I don't consider it hunting by any means

I know. I mean if you hunt like that you: 1. Don't have any respect for the deer 2. Are too lazy to put in the work hunting requires and 3. Don't have patience.

Running hog dogs is one thing, but going after deer with dogs is ridiculous.

Why is it different with deer than hogs? It is still a living breathing animal. Its just another type of hunting. Just one other freedom for some people.

Because down here hogs are a serious problem. They're destroying the land and becoming a risk to the point where the state is considering putting a bounty on hogs. And even if the hog gets away from the doc they're much more like to move their territory after that. What kind of damage do deer do to the land??

People hunted deer with dogs in the old days out of necessity. Not for sport. It was the best way of getting a deer to put meat on the table. That's not the case anymore.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
unless you are hunting a deer buttnaked and barehanded, isn't it all somewhat "unethical"? i wouldn't call a 100+ yd shot w/ a high powered rifle a fair fight...
