I work in Sales at a Nissan store and we get the same thing! A lot of the same faces over and over again just kicking tires with absolutely no intention of buying a vehicle. Its bizarre, I look at these people and just think, don't you have something better to do then stroke a salesman and waste your saturday? I know its a part of the job I suppose, so you learn to 'avoid' these people and send the new guy on them lol :D

You will have to excuse me if I do not shed a tear over that.

Since you have that "intuition" of people that do not buy, how many people have you put into a car when you knew damn well they were over their head and the car would be repo'd within six months?

    Goes both ways.

Um, its not an 'intuition', these people come around at least twice a week, kick tires and never buy anything and just waste our time. I know they have absolutely no intention of buying anything, so I avoid them. And yeah, I'm sure a lot of customers buy and had their vehicle repo'd within six months. This sucks, but really, this is not my problem. Why'd you buy the vehicle then? If a customer comes in and offers to pay full price for a vehicle, do you think I'm going to say no?
Really, its the customers ultimate responsibility to ensure that they can afford the vehicle, otherwise don't buy.

I tend to agree generally, that most people who claim they got "screwed by a car salesman" actually screwed themselves, or at least facilitated the screwing. They got emotional about the purchase, got irrational about what they could afford or just didn't do any research.

Do your research, know what you are buying and what you want to pay.
Especially now that all this info is available on line, there is no excuse for not doing your homework.
