miles left when gas light comes on

    3" Revtek suspension lift, 17" Black and silver American Eagle Alloy wheels, 285/70 Nitto Terra Grapplers, Flowmaster 40 series muffler, sockmonkey brake light cover, Maglight mod, Viper alarm, Smith & Wesson hitch receiver cover
    Anyone know how many miles (approximately) someone has left when thier gas light comes on in le taco? (3" lift + 285's)

    You should be at 5 gallons left in the tank when the light comes on, don't know about miles because it will vary.

    That seems like a lot of fuel left to have the light on.

    Hey! I have a FULL bed of nitrogen......A few TB spacers...And no tailgate. I can pretty much drive to the Bahamas.

    Hello all, 1st i want to say that "jonnysrt2004" --- your truck looks F*&%%$#&^%(*&%& Awesome! Luckily mine is also silver micha or whatever those buffoons at the dealer call it.:D and second i don't know what distance remains to travel with reserve light on:confused: i try to keep it above the 1/4 mark

    I haven't yet run my truck to the light, but I've run it to the E line and I've never taken more than 15 gallons to refill the tank, and it's a 21 gallon tank. I'm guessing that those above are right and the light comes on really, really early.

    Thing is, There is about 4 gals left when the light comes on. This is gonna very vehicle to vehicle. AND, depending on the current mpg average at the time, thats gonna dictate DTE. Also, being as the Fuel Pump is in the tank, and cooled by the suronding gasoline, its a good idea to try and keep it above 1/8 tank,.

    I usually keep my tank above 3/4, for this reason. I know it's overkill. :eek:

    there should be 3 gallons left when the light comes on, cause last time I went I had to put in 18 gallons! Wasn't cheap!

    And that seems to vary. Some people have 4 gallons left. I know one guy that had 5. Not something to rely on.

    55 to 60 miles till you have to start walking in the dark Nebraska highway in mid January. Don't ask me how i know
