Thanks Paul. 'Morning folks. Hang in there Charlie!

I decided to work on the Hellas I bought for the truck yesterday, rather than do more !@#$%^& leaves. Play before work, that's my motto.

    Morning all:
Thanks for the update on the Capt. Keeping him in my thoughts.

Leaves and sticks; got plenty of them right now and lots more to come! :(

Got the blower motor back on the coal stove yesterday, then changed oil in the Tacoma, maby the winter tires on today.

The weather channel said 0% chance of rain today; IT'S RAINING

Looks like the hurricane is going to miss cheech. :woot:
Surfs going to be up though!!! :woot::woot:

What kind of switch are you using? Tom (95SLE) pointed me at Scion switches by oznium. They work well at a decent price comparatively speaking. I have 3 of them installed now too. Dug up the post from when he told me about them:

    Evening good people.

Got the reman saw out and cut some tree limbs down.
Dam thing is heavy compared to the little homelite I have.
Does run real good so a nice backup if necessary.
Ran the bagged JD around again and picked up a few more canisters of leaves.
I will say as a observation, the smaller d120 is actually better suited for my lawn terrain than the d140. But, I can also tell that it would not have the power I need for the blower to run through the end of the road.
Put some more stuff away and actually started to clean up the garage today.
Next week I service the jeep for winter and the vehicles are done. I am on schedule. Freeze warning tonight. Glad I did what I did this weekend.
    AND NO STRESS....:yes::yes::yes:

    Evening all:
Anyone know the correct # disc brake pads that are OEM on a 2009 reg. cab 4x4 Tacoma? I haven't found it on a thread, and it looks like there are two different pads that will fit, ------- 04465-04070 & 04465-AZ001
I think one is semi metallic, and the other is ceramic. The 04070 is twice the price of the other pads.
A lot of the threads suggest using the OEM pads when replacing stock brakes. The rotors look like new, the pads lasted 50k, so I think I will stay with what works.
Got the snow tires on today: I'M READY!!!!!

    :woot:for Mike!

A lot of people do want we call a "pad slap" from the cheepo brake shops.
Which is only putting in new pads with old rotors.
In most instances we see them soon after because of noises, low pedal, shudder,
Etc. We then end up doing a correct brake job. So it costs the customer more in the long run. We always replace rotors or machine them to a clean surface for a good break in.
Even though they look new they still should be skimmed to get the glaze or hard spots off them. Sometimes the hard spots cannot be taken out and then the rotors need replacing. Just a little info for YA. :)

    Thinking of Charlie.... :(

well one big tarp full of leaves, (thought about taking a picture after I'd already ground the leaves up ) ground up with the lawn mower and put in the compost pile. 7 bags of old leaves put around trees and ground up with lawn mower.

I'm with you T Mike. If I get 50k out of rotors, I'd say, thank you for your service, and then replace them while I'm in there.

Yep. we're all thinking of Charlie.

It would be hard to pass up a good fire with all those leaves. The neighbors would enjoy the smoke too.:rolleyes::rolleyes::D

If I burn them, then I have nothing to put in my compost pile

NO on burning... hate the stench they make

    Feel better Mike

Thanks for the input on the brakes and rotors.
I think I only ever replaced one set of rotors on the other three Toyotas, and don't remember having any cut. I also don't run pads all the way down to nothing. I have replaced all the brakes myself, and never had a problem by just putting pads on.
I know that a lot of guys post to replace/cut both rotors when installing new pads, and that is probably the best thing to do.

Darn! Mike, you better wear a dust mask when you are working in the yard. My nose goes ballistic when I mow the first time in the spring, and sometimes after that when there's a lot of pollen on the ground. I have them, but don't always use them when I should.

    Morning everyone.
We really appreciate the effort John, thanks much for the updates. Charlie's got a real following here. Lots of people keeping a positive thought for him and sending prayers his way.
    :censored: :p

If it's the switch at the far left of the dash in the picture, it looks exactly like the one I got from rallylights.com. http://www.rallylights.com/hl96517-toyota-switch-illuminated-rocker.html
I had to trim the sides of the opening too, so the switch would fit. Then the switch kept pushing out by itself, so I trimmed the top and bottom thinking that would let the tabs on the switch expand and hold it in place. But of course it fell right out. :goingcrazy::laugh: So I wrapped it with electrical tape a couple of times and now its nice and snug; it even 'pops' into place. I hooked a ground wire up to the third connection so the LED lights up too.
It worked out alright too! I got the lights done, got the leaves picked up, and went for a 'power walk' with my wife. [IMG]
    Those are sexay too.
