Boost is definitely fun. My buddy from high school has a stage 3 evo 9....only got to drive it stock but even then holy fuck

 

My WRX was a shit ton of fun.... over 4000 rpms

Cant hear the turbo in a wrx without mods but you sure as shit can feel it

You don't hear it because stock turbo isn't VTA (vent to atmosphere). It's a recirculate/plumb back type. When you put an intake or BOV vent on the FiST you'll really hear the turbo then. You can really hear the turbo with the intake I have and I'm putting on a BOV vent this coming weekend to get more of that turbo whoosh sound.

My car will be running a semi custom Cobb Stage 1 tune soon also. The Stage 1 tune using off the shelf maps adds 5 HP and 40 TQ. I should see closer to 10 HP and 50 TQ!! The vendor I'm purchasing the tuner through provides 45 days of data logging to dial in your tune within those days at no additional cost.

After I get the tuner, a larger intercooler will follow and then an exhaust. That should have me right around a Stage 3 tune.

 

An open exhaust and new down pipe gives you the real turbo sound. Least better spool sound and whistle. BOV just gives you the whoosh..which is cool too. But the whistle is the best IMO.

 

You can hear my turbo spool just fine with the intake. Stock exhaust gives no whistle though.

You can hear recirculated bov too. I had a synapse engineering bov. thing was great! Definitely look into one of you ever need to switch yours out.

Really? I have no problems hearing the turbo and the BOV whooshing in my wrx..it's not loud by any means but you can certainly hear it with music turned down. Exhaust and a downpipe would definitely be nice though..
