His expressions while driving it made all of the work I had put into the truck up to that point, 100% worth it. I believe it was Ant who had a quick second test drive. He had a little harder time getting it rolling. Not all his fault though by any mean. That setup of the twin disk was extremely finicky. Finding first with such a stiff shifter compared to theirs also might have played another part.

Two styles of builds worlds apart, and yours has metamorphasized more since then. If you compare to a car, there is just not a comparison. What we have done is stretched the spectrum from rock crawler to road course racer, all from the same starting platform. How many other platforms is that possible with? That right there, is

Right now, the mileage is pretty uh....well if I can stay out of the skinny petal, I can easy get 22. MPG loves my gearing.

 

Pulling out onto I-10 and dropping into 3rd. is burned forever into my memory.

Well said, I almost love the 2nd gens as much as the 1st . Both of your trucks are sick! I saw Homer's at the Big Dogs event, one of my fav 2nd gens. I feel like the red headed step child of the two....

When you get your stroker put together and running I just might have to make a road trip out there myself...

Get on it! I can just as easily say the same for fixing the stroker engine though. Lol. I did find a place locally whom I am comfortable having machine the deck of the newly received sleeved engine. So that might happen first. The last time that Robert and I inspected the stroker engine, we found some new discrepancies. Things which didn't make sense.....

I plan on making a trip out there as well. I want to make one of the Track Dayz events at VIR. The way things are looking, I should be able to go this next fall. A handful of people from XRU usually meet there once, if not twice, a year. Including Gadget, XII Performance, and some other members. I have wanted to go for the past few years.

 

Recently learned that the company which "machined" the deck of the purple sleeved engine (new name), was Darton East as well. I don't know any of the exact details of what all was discussed and performed, other than I was told that Darton East did the decking. As poor a job was done, it makes me curious how many other anomalies there are in my 4.4L? I am really glad that I made that mistake now though. Probably saved me from a much much worse failure.
