Yeah, it was raining when I went through that section so everything was slick as all get out. At first my slider was going under the pointy part of the rock. I was finally able to maneuver my truck to get the slider on top of the rock to get yanked over it. Yeah, where are the pictures of the trail babes!?

Well that's not the line.... Even with a high clearance rear bumper

That's not the line either. At least not with IFS. Note the passenger front 2' in the air.

    1) It was trail babe, singular.

    2) She was maybe a 6. Not exactly a babe.

    Next we stopped here

    Because we saw this

Brett had never heard of spelunking so we showed him.

(maybe mark could repurpose this for his truck instead of the log)

Pretty big mine with lots of passages

We were on Silver City Road so Brett figured they must have been mining copper there.

    Third Obstacle

The big mean ugly rock that really wanted to punch a hole in my door
    DSC01871_ac0ae94989646ee423f9b6a995c8deb1a775cb77.jpg

The rocks under the middle of my truck in this picture helped me get my slider on top of it and after that it was pretty smooth sailing.
    DSC01874_4d1e83cb410056798ea293f93a3be77d15da6f61.jpg

James was halted in his approach
    DSC01876_c6152b296a068cd21c96c75fb7383b9618d0d2f6.jpg

Because this rock was shaped exactly like his rear diff
    DSC01878_38952bef3771610bddc9fbf3be2b88aa900b0ba3.jpg

A quick tug backwards freed him up.
    DSC01880_b2d6bcf912642c98de3df34f54283b7c12fcc332.jpg

Then it was Brett's turn. I think he took the same line as me and made short work of it.

    Rock Garden

The upper end of the rock garden may have given us the most trouble all day.

But I think the only pictures I have of it are of Brett

    Complete album is HERE

James brought a camp stove and cooked us up some "Rob dogs". Cole thought they were so good, that's what he had for dinner tonight too.

Great trail! I can see why more skids would be desirable. I haven't yet looked under the truck and I'm a little afraid to, but at least there's nothing leaking.
I'm kind of surprised I hadn't heard more about this trail given the challenges it offers and how close to town it is and all. I'll definitely be back.

I still need redemption on this trail too. It split my T-case open in the rock garden. Long story.
