Please  You two need to stop drinking the cool aid they give out at the meetings.

    1) Unions back government officials with bribes and campaign contributions who then in turn make it necessary that all government construction be done at prevailing wage thus increasing the costs of every building that WE the tax payers pay for. I have never worked on a government job where everyone wasn't a brother. Not only is this practice costing Americans billions extra it is down right illegal IMO because it cuts out and discriminates all the companies who could do the job with skilled non-union workers for less and save us tax payers money by not having to pay $650 per man day for a carpenter because $90 of that is going into his pension. We don't pay directly into your pension like Government workers, but believe me your pension is full of our tax dollars.

    2) Who pays your unemployment when your illegally cooking the books by banking time or cooking the books when you split time? Ive never met anyone in the union building trades who hasn't illegally cooked books to collect unemployment when times are slow.

Unless you never work on government jobs or at Universities or hospitals you are in fact being paid with tax payers hard stolen money.

I'm not disgruntled at the people who work for unions. I'm just not going to believe the bullshit they spew. After ten years managing union workers I have made great friends with some and hate others who abused the system.

There is typically good reason why the majority of managers of union workers are not in the union themselves - they don't want you guys to know whats going on. They especially don't want you knowing about the kick backs and brown bag deliveries that make it so you can get work. Unless you guys have been there and done it - you're clueless.

    X2 :D

You're so full of shit. Quoted directly from your statement.

"Sure we can. Both have bloated unrealistic pensions that are supported by my tax dollars."

Not true. Trade pensions ARE NOT paid for by tax dollars. Either you don't follow your own statements, or you're just making shit up.

Lol so angry. You ever work on a government building, a hospital, or a university?

What's your local ? I'll look it up for you if they list their clients.

Aren't you in the glass industry? Ever supply glass for a govt vehicle? Does that mean I pay for your retirement through my tax dollars?

Union and non union alike do work for govt and school jobs. The client pays a contracted amount out to the contractor. The contractor pays his employees.

Yes, and you have paid for my retirement with tax dollars. After 10 years of maximizing profits on jobs that were at least 75% funded by: stadiums, hospitals, universities, FBI, Sheriffs offices, US Marshals, Judges, HUD, Septa, and various other projects funded by the US taxpayers I got sick of it. I felt I was ripping off the public on a daily basis. I knew other companies that can't even have an office in the city due to fear of union bullying could perform the task for much less with the same outcome. The crimes Ive seen perpetrated by union officials and members is countless and sickening.

I quit my career a little over a year ago and started a new one with a private company. No more drama. No more babysitting grown men who are "skilled". I now manage people who are hungry and strive for perfection and speed. My duties motivating my workers is nothing now compared to trying to get union guys to move at faster than a snails pace. The days of needing to tell my shop stewart that we have a solid backlog of work so the guys will actually pick up pace for fear of "working themselves out of a job" are long gone.

I feel so much better to provide a honest days work for a honest days pay where before I felt like I was nothing but perpetrating a sham.

That's a good idea actually. I bet there would be plenty of buyers if only we could reach them :D

That made me smile and not in a negative way towards either side.

I'm not anti union if they are managed correctly and the wages are fair. I'm for capitalism and letting each company fairly bid on projects. Let the best company get the job be it private or union.

In my perfect world there are no inflatable rats or bullying and no one is saying "they stole our jobs".

So schools, hospitals, police stations and buildings of the such shouldn't be built? Again, trade unions themselves don't get tax payer money. Again, non union and union contractors both bid public work.

Your blatant statement that tax payer money pays union pensions is entirely incorrect.

Contract negotiations are quite interesting as we work closely with the contractors. Without Them there is no Us and we know it. When I was involved I became aware that an officer in the local and part of the representing party had a personal insurance policy to cover his ass because of his fudiciary responsibility. He could be held personally liable for being part of a bad decision. So with all the underfunded pensions whose being held liable? One party only has an educated guess at the other party's economics. If Their representation made many bad calls over the years the only fault of the Union was not calling them out on it. So maybe its a well planned union busting trick to pay us too much, go bankrupt, void a contract, rebuild a new relationship with labor, all while getting payed by tax dollars and never admitting to never doing you're job properly.

Unions are only half of the story.

If I have to do business with the Koch brothers they aren't going to pay me unless they have to. I'm going to make sure my widget gets top dollar by all means possible. I have the patent and they will pay. It's not my fault if they overspend for my product. But it would be wise on my part to make it affordable.

Sheetmetal Local 105! And I bust my ass for my pay!

I'm just going back to looking at cool Tacomas where its not so opinionated.
