    Keep us in the loop - I've not built a 308 yet, though I'm heavily vested in the caliber & cartridge. I could never justify it over a bolt gun, though I have thought about just pushing the button on a GAP 10.

    What about a FAL? It's an awesome rifle and will eat anything you want to feed it, dry.

    FALs are cool, but don't they have the fluted chamber of the G3? I heard they basically destroy brass and I'm a big reloader. Picked up 200 pieces of 308 last week @ the range. Crazy what people will leave behind.

    No that is the Cetme and G3 German rifle with the fluted chambers. FAL's are a different animal, piston driven so they stay clean inside. No fluted chambers here. Built in bipod, launches rifle grenades, all sorts of brakes and flash hiders, 20 round magazines and was designed to run dry if need be.

    Tell me about the brass. I sorted this pile for about an hour today. I spent more time picking up brass than I did shooting yesterday. Odd, but there was only (1) one, 10mm case there, and (3) 32 Auto's. Plenty of 40's, 45's, 9mm's, and quite a few .380's too. Lot's of once fired Winchester .308 as well.

    MOE = Magpul Moe
    LPK = Lower Parts Kit
    FCG = Fire Control Group
    ALG ACT = ALG Defense ACT trigger. (IIRC run by Mrs. Giesselle)

    Started shopping and getting ideas for a build. Thoughts on a carbine vs mid length, and 14.5" vs 16"?

    ^ Yeah I am aware a 14.5" must be pinned and welded, but doing that are you sacrificing anything?

    Im a short dude 5'5" and I don't really want a longer weapon and it will be for home defense and the wife will be trained on it, shes 5'. Home defense, plinking, will be the uses for it.

    Yeah, I joined up to help myself keep track of all the MA laws and regulations. There are quite a few TW guys on there I've noticed. I'm a green member on there also and have taken advantage of quite a few group buys :D

    I'm really not interested in those. Still want to be able to use it as a rifle if needed.
