OK, yes this is gonna be about a relationship. me and my gf of 2 years (which for our age is pretty good) just broke up, i need some advice on helping myself through this. It SUCKS big time but i can see were shes coming from, im 20 shes 18. She liked me my whole senior year but i was like f that i dont want a gf now its time to party. Well now its her turn for that and she just wants to live it up. Id seriously do anything for this girl. weve both put everything into this for 2 years and i think its so stupid to just throw it all away but its not my choice. If it was mine id marry her right now, i dont think ill ever get a chance with a girl as beautiful as her again. Im hearing alot of well if its meant to me itll work out later but thats a long shot which only happens in movies. Its just gonna be so weird with her not in my life everyday. I no i gotta keep myself busy to keep it all outta my head but do any of you tw members who have been through this have any advice to help me get through it

Thanks for reading, i feel a little better after getting it all out.

I totally feel for yah bud. I am going through that myself right now. Been with my ex for 7 years and we just split up about a month ago. IT SUCKS BIT TIME and no matter how busy you keep yourself, you are always going to have her on your mind. Its going to be rough, take it from me. I'm still fucked up over all of it and yes, I still love her and want her back. I just don't think she wants me though. Just try and keep your head up bro. I know its hard.

let me start out by saying that I went through the exact same thing! only difference was I was with my highschool sweetheart during my senior year and she broke up with me when it was her turn at it. She wanted to have fun with friends with out a relationship. I went damn near crazy but that what happens when you lose your first love. Its all a part of living and learning. I especially thought I would never find another as beautiful, but I did. Don't doubt your capabilities. And trust me when I say being single ain't all that bad. Your still young im sure you got some catching up to do with a best friend or 2 that you may have put on the backburner. Its gonna be good bro, plus you got all of us here to shoot the shit with.

hey i just got out of my first love sweet heart, i still wanted her but she didnt want me. to get over it i kinda set her on the back burner, you know dont ignore her but dont really hang out with her or talk to her much, and instead i focused on school work (actually fun for me) worked on the taco, earned money workin on friends cars trailin through woods, and just shootin the shit with old friends

the first two weeks are toughest third week is kinda the hump week, after that your good to go with someone different

yeah just try not to talk to her or see her without hurting her feelings, if not just explain why.

yeah get rid of any daily things that will remind you of her, ie pics, certain songs ect...

after about 1 week youll be mase mesa but youll still miss her and shell pop in your mind

2 weeks you will feel better but she will occasionally pop in your mind

3 weeks she may pop in occasionally but in general youre fine, if possible find another fishy

infact after today i reccomend you forget about this thread

it sucks. i dealt with the same type of thing about a year ago. best thing to do is keep yourself busy. thats it. i was in the best shape of my life about a month after we broke up. just find something that keeps you busy and lets you release stress. here are the things that i did

    Run
    Lift
Work on the truck (i changed the oil like every 500 miles for a while lol)
    shoot bow/rifle
    go camping
    video games with buddies
sharpen knives (the sound relaxed me, idk why)
drinking is fine as long as you are somewhere fun where you wont get all emo

Changing the oil every 500 miles? Well, guess it beats buying a diamond ring you'd never get back. :D

    Video games? Yup!

Drinking safely and not going emo? ;) :)

Running, lifting, shooting, camping? Ya, you'll be just fine. :p

Sharpening knives and liking the sound? Kinda scaring me there, brah.

Go to the gym. You will get frustration out and be relaxed at the same time. Its like therapy. Get into a routine. Also, ignore her. Thats your only chance of getting her back. Give he the gift of missing you. In the meantime it will be hard though especially since you were with her for so long and she is a beautiful great girl. But dont get the mindset that you wont find anyone as good. Now that you have had her, you know what you are capable of. So dont settle for anything less.
