    Bump for visibility.

Parts should be here in a week. Once they arrive, I will create a new thread with pics of items installed with cost and put that link in this thread since it was such a popular thread.

Kind of what I was thinking? After almost 300 posts... people know that you are trying to sell something. Bumping a thread that most everyone has already either seen or posted in with no pictures of the actual product doesn't make much sense?

    Until then:

Was doing it in case there are users that haven't seen it other than all the users that have commented. Doesn't take long for threads to get buried in a forum, especially as active as this forum is. With any luck, my parts will be here Friday.

I'm interested in seeing pics for #1. If you were to take picks of #1 on your truck that would be cool.

    1) Soft Cap: Combination of Soft-Topper and Can-back. My cap with collapse easily and quickly but also be strong enough to have a roof rack option to handle some weight. Going to offer black or tan in color, metal will be powder coated textured black steel. This is still in design stage. The frame is done, working on the patterning for the soft goods now. Material will be similar to what Jeep uses.

I am def making one for my truck which is the long bed and one for my buddy which has the short bed. We both want exactly what we described. All the metal work is designed and I am working on finding a cheap tube bending company. He is finishing up the soft goods and then we are visiting a shop that does soft goods for boats. Luckily we're surrounded by them since we are on the Chesapeake bay.

So how 'bout a look at your Cad drawings? I'm sure you've seen the drawings of your competitor who is at about the same stage as yours, waiting for the prototypes.
    Inquiring minds want to know.

Here is the frame. Still working on the fabric portion and doing that in ProE instead of SolidWorks, SolidWorkds somewhat sucks when it comes to patterning.

Hoops will be secured to track system that sits on the bed rail. Track system will hook into our cleat rails. Loosen wing nut in hoop, remove tubes that are holding hoops in place, slide everything toward the cab and tighten wing nuts to secure. The brackets and bars across will be an optional rack that goes on the outside of the fabric. The fabric will have front and rear clear panels with optional clear side panels. We are going to try to make the sides and rear panel zip together for easy removal. Everything will roll up similar to tent flaps. More to come.

OP: Fast response, thanks! I'm more interested in the rail and gate caps, though. Can you please post your pictures of those?

    Thanks.

Tough to really see what is going on in this instance, parts should be here soon. Once they get in, I will install on my truck and take actual pictures.

I see it exposes a small portion of the top of the tailgate. Is that right?

No. I just don't have my block modeled perfect for the actual profile of the truck. It is just a place holder. It'll cover all of it.
