Not even the slightest and I don't want to guess. The fabric is pretty pricey so I am trying to find places that I can buy in bulk.

I am still interested in the 3rd brake light with bed light. Any traction?

I'd be interested in that as well. It still boggles my my mind that a $30K+ truck doesn't have that from the factory.

I was talking to a friend and he doesn't see the big deal but every truck I ever owned had one and never even thought to check this one when I bought it. Absurd.

I am still researching. I found a few places that will do it, with a 10,000 piece min order and $15,000 for the tooling so that isn't happening.

I have a call into a few places to see what they can do. I work in the plastics industry and one of our customers makes all the injection molds and tail light/head lamp assemblies for Toyota. I flew out to their plant in Michigan last year. That is my most promising lead. Their engineer is looking into it for me.

Free bump just to say I like where this is going! And I really like to see that you are local for me. Sick of paying to ship things to the East coast. I for one support some good old competition in the market place. Best of luck to you OP, I will be paying attention and hopfully helping to support this venture in the near future.

Get them to make this happen, and you will have a ton of orders. Biggest challenge is going to be the extra wiring and switch, as not everyone will take on what is involved (pulling headliner etc...).

Is that just a concept right now or have you devised a way to make them as strong as weld ons?

Will you be quitting your day job to work on all these products? You may have the nicest products, but if it takes 16 weeks or so for delivery, it will turn many away.

Even if you have similar products to the next guy on the list, if you can get it out in a week time or two vs the usual 6-8 weeks, you're already ahead of the game. However, I'm sure that will require a much larger overhead on your part to accomplish that.

Good luck with your venture and hope to see actual products soon.

That does not show the magic of making them as strong as bolt on, just a general concept. The other part I don't really want to share just yet.

In a perfect world, it'll require me to quit my day job and support me but that is years down the road. Lead times will be 2-3 weeks once my design is done. I have a good amount of parts on order now that should be here any day now. The stuff that requires a large amount of weld (sliders) I am going to do myself because paying someone to fab them and then ship to me is not cost effective.

I hope to have pictures up very very soon of the actual product.

Is it a full frame rail like some others do ?

Somewhat of a compression clamp set up. Still working out the fine details.
