On the Icon/Fox/King thing

Yes, we do steer customers towards Icon's on their Mid-travel set-ups. Main reason being is that they have more R&D on the OEM replacement stuff, and they just plain ride better. The higher spring rate out of the box and valving is better suited for the Daily-Driver weekend warrior such as yourselves. Also, the more shock options Icon has helps, and their rear 2.5's, even though they are more than kings, offer more than a king. King doesn't offer a non resi front as well.

That being said, we are more than happy to sell you King or Fox if that's what you want. We give you the info to make an informed decision and go from there. I just got some Kings for a Tundra for a guy in Tucson, and we just put Kings on a L/T Raptor, and the Silver Tundra is running Fox's out back.

For the Long travel guys, It opens your options. TO get max travel, the Icon's usually pull a bit more based on their design. If you order Fox's from Camburg, they are not standard fox's. They are Fox's that mirror SAW's specs.

Personally I have raced and ridden on all of them. All are an upgrade over stock, that's no doubt.

I try to give you local guys a good deal, cause tax sucks. And we have no way around Tax. So going to DSM is usually cheaper by some. It sucks, I understand it, but we are here for the local guys to come in with any questions. If our open doors and service means you pay that little extra to support local, then awesome. But I won't hold it against you if not.

Both Jason and Myself, as well as the others here are always free to talk, and show you around the shop if we are not balls to the wall busy. Also, Jason and Louis are the one's who do shock rebuilds here, so if anyone has any questions on what's easier or needed to rebuild Icon's, Fox's or Kings, swing on by.

I was wondering if you were going to chime in, all of the opinions thus far today reinforce what you stated the other day!

Icons seem to be the clear choice, now I just need to ride along with a few people and see why everone has that opinion. Any suggestions sir ? ?

 

Icons seem to be the clear choice for me as well, but I don't get having to spend around $2k for a lift and not be able to clear 285's with no rubbing without having to cut my cab up...

 

That's on Toyota and not the aftermarket support as the aftermarket can only work with the base design as a starting platform and only work with what is in front of them.

Having said that the Tacoma in it's base factory form is a very capable vehicle . . .
