That truck always looked sketchy to me when I saw it around town

 

It was definitely quick, but Dan also had to take that tranny out and have it rebuilt after every time he ran the truck. I have had two of those trannys in my truck and blew both if them up.

 

hey does anyone know this sound and what it could be? I'm doing wheel bearings and I'm thinking its time for some new uniballs, just curious if anyones heard this sound before. Its like somethings loose but I've checked everything

Check the rod ends on the top and bottom of both shocks.

 

Yeah but don't you have to activate it by pressing the traction control button? When I do a soft press an auto LSD light comes on, regardless of that I unplug an ABS sensor any time I go off roading either way.

I looked for a OE e-locker breakdown but couldn't find much that helped me get a better understanding of it.

I have an 05 so I don't have the auto LSD button. Just VSC on road and A-trac offroad.

 

What type of bolts are you guys using for shocks? Looking for something stronger than the ones included with camburg kits. Or are their new 12 point bolts stronger?

 

What was sketchy about it? It definitely isn't crazy clean from what I've seen about it

Yeah, there are little tiny uniballs in the ends where they bolt up. Sounds like one of those is beat. I'd probably take the limit straps off, put the truck on stands, then jack up the lower arm until the pressure is off the shock and wiggle it around, there shouldn't be any play. You should be able to see/feel if there is a gap between where the arm moves upward and the shock begins resisting, which would indicate movement around the mounting bolt.

12pts all the way. That's all we run on the Pro-2.

 

youd have to change out the tube sleeve in the coil bucket or drill it out which wont be easy. standard bolt either wont fit or will be loose. id stick to what you have

 

f911 is stronger than 12 point but both are better than the standard grade 8

 

This, not to mention machine the bushing sleeves or misalignments, whichever type upper arms you have.

 

I'm talking NAS spec 12pts, not hardware store 12pts.
