My vin is also included in the recall. Some of you say clips, but looking at it first hand I could totally disagree. My leaf packs have been at a negative arch since the very first load of firewood at spec capacity. I have a load of firewood in it at this minute at spec capacity and it looks like she is ready to snap. I'm going to leave this load in it overnight just to see if it can take the stress. If leafs are snapping clips aren't gonna do squat.

Just curious what kind of driving you were doing? Are you an off roader/crawler or is this truck your daily driver? I had a 97 5 lug with a 2.4 that I, over the course of its life, pulled jet skis, both of my 18 foot boats, and loaded down almost every weekend for years with my dirtbike and gear. When I sold it with 215K miles the springs were still arched and doing great. Just want to know if this is something that happens even if you dont really beat up your truck. Thanks.

1st gear in 2wd down a lame ass sand/dirt road. There is a spot in the road where the drivers side rear tire will go to full droop, at that point is where it snapped.

This is my daily driver and weekend trail/fishing/light crawler. There are 100's of places I've gone that I figured would snap a spring. She still made it all the way home though.

    Nothing worth mentioning yet...

Probably the best GIF ever hahaha.

On topic, I saw this recall a few weeks ago and I'm waiting for the remedy. I was a little disappointed the first time I loaded up 3 dirtbikes and the thing was almost on the bumps, but I do still have the old 3 leaf pack, I guess the PO never had them replaced. I'm hoping the new springs solve it. If not, does anyone have any experience with the General HD packs?

I have a 2011 with a three leaf pack and mine didn't come up as qualifying. Any ideas why?

Just worried about how much higher the rear will be now with the 4 leaf pack.

    Any ideas?

I've read that some guys experienced ZERO lift from the 4 leaf packs and some claiming 1 1/4" lift.

Not that I'm aware of. Never had that problem with any of the other trucks I've owned.

Show us a pic of these fancy new 4 leaf pacs, I'd like to see the thickness of the overload and the possible second overload.

Ooh, those are curious.... 3 leafs and an overload. I think those will definitely last longer and probably have a bit more capacity. I wish Toyota would take a few pointers from OME and use more than one overload to progressively save our springs from negative arch. My new leaf pack has 2 overloads that bend and a 3rd that doesn't (the end all be all leaf). Please keep us updated as to how they handle and whether or not they flex more. :)
