Yeah, it was a mounting bracket I got off of the site and it has that 3m sticky adhesive stuff on the back. It was only a few dollars extra and well worth it!

I thought you had to re-calibrate the UG for bigger tires for it to read more accurately IIRC. But i have not researched it completely.

I had to input the size of my gas tank, the difference in tire size, and it recommends manually inputting how much gas you used when you go fill up at the gas station to get it fully calibrated.

That logic would make sense if all I did was highway commuting like the PO, which is probably why it lasted so long in the first place. Could there not be benefits to other clutches as well? I would rather install one that lasts 100K as opposed to 200K, but feels and works better for what I do.

    Which clutch did you fry?

Thanks for the info, why do you like it more over OEM? looks like it would run about the same price for OEM/Marlin/Trail Gear.

Never replaced a clutch before, I know I need to give myself a good bit of time, but think I'll be able to do it without too much trouble.

I don't know if I've had a problem with fading as much as just not having the gearing I need. Which is why I smoked mine this weekend. But thanks for the feedback.

Also for anybody, what's the consensus on resurfacing/replacing the flywheel?

there is a reason an UG is like 70 bucks and a SG is twice as much..

Always resurface it. Do it while its out. Or replace it if its bad.

You can also opt for a heavier flywheel which holds your revs longer. Or a lighter one that will drop your revs more.

It takes less pedal pressure to throw yet seems to hold just as well.

Resurface the flywheel if you can. The stock one is a piece of jewelry. I found out the hard way, replacing it with some Napa crap. Ended up going back in and replacing it, as there were starter issues from the start. (pun fully intended.)

Here's the post where I compared the Napa one a shop installed and a TGP one I replaced the POS with: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-builds/259729-tomtoms-03-trd-xtra-cab-36.html#post8678223

The TG one is Aisin, which, is my understanding, the company that supplies Toyota. Don't think it is going to be a wrong choice.

I don't think the clutch from TG is from Aisin.

The Flywheel maybe..but i just resurfaced mine..
