Lol! I swear it was on CNN and Hawaii News Now today! But I never said the Tacoma was on the list.. :p I can't remember which broadcast it was, but they said all of the manufactures up to 04 or something like that, and Toyota was 90-something to 2015 for some models. I just wanna make sure my peeps stay safe!

I checked and none of our trucks are on the list, but my friends Civic was. Although the list jumped from just Honda and Toyota last week to Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Ford, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, and a few others this week. I bet our trucks make it on the list in the next few weeks..

The local news said that dealers are being flooded with people trying to find out if their cars are in on the list or not. Looked like Servco Windward on the report that was saying they are dissaing airbags until they can get the parts to fix them.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to panic anyone, just want to make sure we are all aware :) The way I understand it right now; Hawaii and Florida are being told to be especially vigilant because humidity is a contributing factor. Increased humidity may cause the airbag to deploy without having an external impact set it off. And in all areas, regardless of humidity, some part of the airbag retaining hardware may fragment when the airbag charge is detonated causing a problem with shrapnel to the face. My friend's Civic was not in the lot with the premature detonations so he didn't need a new airbag, but I guess his was in the fragmenting group because they replaced his airbag retaining nut under recall.

We gotta keep a close eye on this one  First recall in a long time that I would take extra serious.

Okay guys, semi-false alarm, probation deserved :( I don't know if it was a typo on the 5 o clock news, or if I read it wrong, but the 10 o clock news said up to 05' Toyota's, not 15'. And CNN was saying the airbags would deploy without any impacts, but servco said that is not the case. Go figure the one time I take CNN seriously  On the flip side NBC Nightly News said that the airbags may deploy prematurely in humid environments..

I'm keeping an eye out, cause I suspect the affected cars list is going to grow before all is said and done. And 05' is close enough to the current generation of the Tacoma and Frontier to be unnerveing.. But the Tundra is the only pickup I have seen on the list so far. Most all of the recalls were for cars and a few SUV's.

    Switch to "Fox" new's Nate...lol

It's good to pay attention to this stuff though. I don't need an airbag full of shrapnel deploying into my daughters face. Thanks for being a concerned citizen...:)

You can also check the toyota website. You can make an account with username and password. They email you with updates and can check for recalls/TSBs.

Nope! That's just for me :D

I have been watching for a thule or yakima basket for a while now..

In other news. Need to rotate tires, and since the PF trip is coming up, no sense to bring it in and have them balance (I gotta pay as I got my tires used). Should I go front to back and cross the rears or just go back to front?

I was told just front <---> back for my radial Toyo's

I think its ok to swap sides if the rotation is under 5k miles before the belts are "broken in" for that direction.
