I installed the famous 2014 Etune Navigation receiver in my 2012. I ran into an unforeseen problem. It appears that the stock radio does not have a separate XM module. I guess it is contained within the HU? Do I need to buy a 2014-15 XM module to work in conjunction with the new HU?

In addition, I was unsuccessful in keeping the USB function with the Axxess- Toyusb adapter. Do I need Ax-Toyusb2 instead?

I really enjoy satellite radio an need to find a solution ASAP. If someone can help me with either of these issues it would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the radio I replaced........

Will the 2012 oe wiring work with 2014 xm extension box? Are there adapters available if not? I have seen this topic discussed but havent found a resolution. Thanks for the time!

The 2014 XM module is separate and mounts to the bottom of the Navi head unit and plugs directly into it with 3 cables. I've seen a couple for sale on the parts forum. I understand that the guy who is selling the Navi units may have a line on getting them.

You're right! That is what I was planning on at first then I started to doubt myself! I really over think this stuff sometimes. :)

    XM box on the way!

I just put a 2014 touch screen into my 2012 that had the upgraded hands free radio without touch screen.

The one I purchased came with the xm module. The only problem I have seen is that the 2012 shark fin xm antenna plug doesn't plug into the 2014 unit. I'm going to go to a radio store tomorrow and see if they have a solution. But this may also be a problem you run into.

So I just figured out how to do this. I will put some pictures up later tonight.

So the plug from my 2012 XM antenna was different then the plug going into the 2014 Entune head unit.

What I did was take the 2012 radio and take the back piece off. From there I followed the BLUE XM antenna plug to a BROWN plug. I removed the short wire from there. It was about two inches long. I then removed the BROWN plug and pulled the wire out. I plugged the Blue to Blue like it normally was and then plugged in the old BROWN part into the new radio.

I know...it sounds confusing as hell but if you are taking it apart it will make 100% sense.

Good luck and I will be making a new post about it tomorrow.
