I have an 09 and when I step on the brake I can hear what sound like a little motor or whining sound running. The sound seems to be coming from the left side of the steering wheel underneath the dash.

If i hold my foot the brake and slightly release and push down on the brake, the brake will go lower to the floor.

    Thanks!!!

The TRDOR has a pump that pressurizes an accumulator, I only hear mine when I turn the key to on, just before starting the truck.

How often do you hear the pump?

Zactly. If your brake pump runs all the time that means you have air in the system. Bleed the brakes if you are smart, if you are not take it to a good mechanic or the dealership and get it unfucked.

It could also be a bad accumulator, or something allowing pressure to release.

You have a master cylinder going bad you need to deal with that pretty sharpish.

So to follow up with my brake sound issue. Apparently is is normal.

On a side note, The tech said it sounded like I had ha wheel bearing going out and also I tech that I replaced some of the coolant in the overflow 2 times druing 81000 miles thats on it.
Thank god I have the extended warranty is all I can say..

One thing though I had to go back and get my keys out of my truck and I saw the air was let out of of both front tire so the guy could work on it eaiser. So now my truck is sitting on the wheels. Do you think that will do any damage.

Not unless it's driven that way around the lot, or it sits there for long period of time.
