LifeTime LED Headlights??

Anyone else interested in a group for the new 70w? Thinking about purchasing some H4 next month, so a group buy would be nice.

 

I would need to see some results of how they perform vs the originals. How do they hold up, will the fans die, before I spend that much on lights. So far I'm leaning towards no.

 

I would be interested, but I would want to see some sort of comparison such as installing the old style bulb on one side of the truck and the new style on the other, then shining them at distant targets or a wall. This would serve as a side by side comparison.

 

I traded in my original lifetime led for the new 70 watt version. I can definitely say they are much brighter with a better beam pattern. The build quality is far superior to originals. Everything is aluminum, compared to some parts being plastic on the originals. I bought both my sets through Southeast Overland. They have the best customer service and take care any issues without a problem.

Sorry guys.....I know everyone is awaiting the 70w LED pics/review from other members, but wanted to give my quick thoughts about the standard $150 version bulbs. After a few hours of night driving, here are some pros and con's following installation in a 2014 Taco.

Pro's:
- Like others have said, these LEDs are much better than the regular, silverstar, or PIAA bulbs when considering lumen output and color.
-Personally, I am happy with the projection of the low/high beams. "Noticeable" improved visibility at increased distance with highs on.
-Do not blind oncoming traffic....signs and road lines seem more visible. Safer alternative to HID bulbs w/o projector retrofit.
-Easy installation.

Con's:
-Minor interference with FM and HD radio but nothing I can't deal with (ie. Noticed a little more static on some channels and HD weather would not register until headlights were turned off). I mounted both ballasts with 3M adhesive tape....not touching metal.
-If your ultimate goal is to get bulbs that "replicate" HID intensity and throw, go with HID bulbs....these will only disappoint.
-Longevity??? After reading some disappointing results with the earlier generations of these, only time with tell if this is a worthwhile upgrade. Will report back if mine go south or experience the dreaded flicker failure.

Hope this helps out a few contemplating these as a future purchase.

did you lose both the high and low beam or is the light just completely dead?

 

I am pretty sure their site says not to use the 70W with DTRL, I wonder if that does go for the 35W as well.

 

i pulled the trigger on these and installed them as well as csjumper's led fogs. both look awesome. i was disappointed because one of my headlights flickered and then basically stopped working. i will be calling them tomorrow to get a replacement. hopefully this is just a one time thing. ill post an update with what happens

 

i had a 4runner before my taco about the same year as your taco. there is a really easy way to disable the dtrl's. google it. its a simple plug next to the headlight you unplug and it turns them off
