As soon as I adopted this outlook & got a good radar detector I haven't had a moving violation in like 15 years. Prior to that I would get them bi-weekly. At some point in your life you'll realize it's not as cool as you think it is and not worth the effort.

I try not to speed. Radar detectors are illegal in some states.

 

In the eyes of a cop... same damn thing.

Not really. I've been bothered for those before. These are more like running lights than underbody lights. They're basically like this:


They do match amber up front. The camera made them look more yellow than they are.

I thought CT still was, but apparently they appealed it some time ago.

Again, you're trying to justify something that you wouldn't have to worry about if you didn't have them. You're welcome make such modifications but don't wonder why you get pulled over when you stand out... especially in the dark.

 

Yes, the risk is there, but I consider it pretty low, so I'm not worried about it. I've always been more likely to get stopped for a moving violation rather than a vehicle modification.

 

Some leftover abs sheet I had laying around. Took a couple hours cutting, forming, fitting and drilling. Fit of pen/light holder piece is such that it locks in place and is usable without the other panels. Also installed bungees across the hooks in there.

 

Looks good. I don't like the "organizers" that chop up all the space with tiny unusable bits. This one is nice.

 

Deodorant? lol. That shit would still melt in the middle of winter here. I like the concept though for the pencils and little maglite

 

HA! Yeah, I made the mistake of leaving a stick of deodorant in my glove box once. Never again.

 

What can I say? I sweat a lot. Console seems to stay pretty cool, and as long as it remains upright it won't make a mess.

 

You could insulate the console, or another compartment for those types of things.
Or fab a frugal DIY container that stays outside of the truck (There should be plenty of empty space in the under the bed) for things you don't want inside the cab.

 

Added some small ammo boxes from harbor freight to the track system. They were smaller than I thought they would be but their good for straps and odds and ends I guess.

 

Nice cans. How did you attatch them? Got a close up?

 

5/8 carriage bolt slides right into the rail system. Then drilled holes and mounted mine. Worked great.

 

Found these at a local hardware store. Fits perfectly in the Trac system. They are used by electricians couldn't tell what for though, I just saw the profile and thought they might fit.
