    The Build

Decided to sell my 1999 Tacoma

And picked up this 2011 Tacoma off of craigslist

I told myself I was going to leave it stock but after a few months I couldn't resist. I thought that maybe a leveling kit would satisfy my needs so I ordered the Bilstein 5100's and set them at 1.75" to level it off. I also Plasti Dipped the rims

It sat a little nose high but i was content with it, for about a month. The urge to lift it wouldn't go away. I told myself to at least wait until the tires wore down before doing anything to it but I just couldn't wait. I ordered the Maxtrac Bundle from Headstrong Offroad and was able to install the lift myself thanks to all the tutorials on tacomaworld.

Truck with lift installed and stock tires. Sits a little nose high. I ordered the OME D29XL AAL and I'm waiting to install it.

Nice. Love the stance the maxtracs give. Looking at that same set up. I see your from oahu too. How much was shipping from headstrong down here? And how's the ride with the billies set at .85 with the spindles? Thanks bro.

They quoted me $1650 for the whole kit shipped but was able to bring down the shipping price by taking out the Dakar leaf pack. So it was $908 for everything shipped and then picked up the Dakars at 4wheelparts for about $470. Received the stuff in 3 days from headstrong and great customer service. The ride is great with the billies, no problems.

That's a pretty good deal. Might go the same route as you and buy the leaf pack separate. Thanks for the heads up man.

Forgot to say I already had the billies. So that was for the spindles, brake lines, rear shocks, leaf pack bushings, carrier bearing drop, and extended ubolts

Did it myself. I was going to have dhcustoms do it but he had a long waitlist. I think autocustoms has done some too.

Yah man, I'd prefer to do it myself so I can save some cash and put a little experience under my belt. Whose rotary lift did you use? And compressed air!? Dang, I'm sure using that thing made the install way easier.

I have base access and they have shops you can rent a lift and borrow tools. You get? Everything went good except trying to get the rear leaf spring bolts in was a pain.

Yeah they have everything you need. I went to the one on Hickam and they even gave me a hand on stuff I wasn't sure about.

Sick truck man! I was wondering, did you pass recon with your current wheel/tire setup? Or did you get it done with the stock wheels and tires?
