At my my dealership, you can't see whats going on, cause they pull the vehicles into a garage around back. The waiting room is completely separate from the garage. I just find it hard to believe that lube techs substituting your oil with theirs and keeping yours is a widespread problem. Seems like they would have better things to scheme over.

I never said they substituted my oil. I did say they told me their bulk oil was full synthetic. Later they admitted their oil was dino oil. They, like your shop, have a waiting room away from the repair area, and also (have) a back door, that was left open on nice days. I just walked around to the open door and watched them put in my mobil 1 that I bought in MY TRUCK. It was the last time I delt with them. The dealership I use now has no problem assuring me, visually, that MY oil is being used in MY TRUCK. I call that customer service?

Do your oil yourself, they wont use yours unless your standing over top of them. I asked to have synthetic put in mine at 5k and I would pay the difference, and I got the excuse that Tacoma's cant run on synthetic.... save some hassle **** these dealerships. If you want anything done right, do it yourself or find someone on here that lives close by.

it takes longer to drive to the dealer than it does to change it yourself...

Where I work at we use mobile 1 bulk drums from Toyota because when a vehicle has Toyota care it's submitted as warranty so it has to be a Toyota part number.

I wouldnt trust the dealership and I would assume they have conventional oil instead of synthetic. I'd take the advice from the other guys and change it yourself. Takes probably 20 minutes is all and thats taking your time haha.

I did mine like two nights ago so I had some experience in it. I have 25k on mine and never took it to the dealer. My girlfriend took her camry in and it's just a pain in the ass. Make the appointment, find the time in the busy day, then to top it off sit in the waiting room for two hours for the retards to change the oil. Yeah right. I'll do it myself in 20 minutes. That's drinking two beers and lighting a fire for heat in the house also. Oh and I know that it's a new oem filter, and valvoline 5w30 synthetic. No hoping or guessing.

I get my oil changed by the dealer twice per year. The dealer I bought the truck from gives me two free oil changes per year for life but the other 3-4 times each year I change it .
