    I am going to paint the block for now, but the whole basement is about 1900 square feet so eventually I am going to insulate the walls and stud them out. But for now it is use for storage and an area for the kids to play.

    It looks like you may want to consider some type of water plug parge or treatment for the block , looks like it wicks moisture from the pic

    It does. There is tar up to the ground line but the mason put a very thin parge on the block. When its damp you can see the block right through it. On the list of things to do is we are going to do a brick or some kind of stone work on the outside.
