    Well then my suggestion would be to extend the dimpleboard all the way to the ceiling prior to framing however I do have a caution

    I have a similar area in my basement / heated crawlspace where we ran dimpleboard from the drain tile at the footing of the wall up about 6' . There was then a vapour barrier and 2" concrete skim coat poured over it . I kept getting a slight smell of stale / stagnant water in the area . Not super strong but irritating .

    I finally figured out what was going on about a year later , the vapour barrier had a fold in it and wasn't completely sealing against the wall , when the house was under negative pressure from having on the bath fans , range hood or burning the woodstove , air was being sucked in through the drain tile , up the buried concrete wall between it and the dimple board and coming out the little crack where the vapour barrier wasn't sealed

    If you have no issue now it shouldn't be a problem but it's something to keep in mind and it was a bit of a head scratcher for me till I figured it out

    Thanks for the input. It's was a dry summer this year so most of the wicking was prior to the drain and sumps being installed but I am going to keep an eye on it. There are very few houses around here with basements and I am starting to figure out why. The original house that was here was built in the 40s and had a basement and I didnt have any issues. But then again where the part of the basement where the original house was I don't have any issues, most of the water issues where coming from the side in the pictures.
