The taxis in Boston can be scary too. They cut you off and stop and go without warning. They always go through the red light at the last second and jump the light a second before it turns green. I'm glad there aren't as many as there are in NYC.

    1. I just put a casserole in the oven.

    2. My plastic surgery needed some “tweaking” to get it just right.

    3. I was sitting in the bathroom and my feet and legs fell asleep. When I stood up, I fell and broke my ankle.

    4. I had been at the casino all weekend and still had money left to play with on Monday morning.

    5. I woke up in a good mood and didn’t want to ruin it.

    6. I had a “lucky night” and didn’t know where I was.

    7. I got stuck in the blood pressure machine at the grocery store and couldn’t get out.

    8. I had a gall stone I wanted to heal holistically.

    9. I caught my uniform on fire by putting it in the microwave to dry.

    10. I accidentally got on a plane.

^Weak. My grandma died three times before they figured it out. Boss said he knew something was up because she always died on a thursday.

I just used the ebola excuse yesterday. Turns out it's just a cold, but a guy can never be too sure. :D

I just figured this out. For those certain times in close proximity and you could use the opportunity to wipe your mouth dry..

I find it sad you don't talk to your friend anymore. Life is more than a job. If someone's only identity is their job, then there was never much to them to begin with.

Nah I know what he's talking about...it's not that his job is his only identity, but that often times it's difficult to maintain relationships with people outside of the LE circle based on various stresses, schedules, interests etc. Imagine if you spend the next 4 years of your life on night shift, working 6pm to 6am, and your days off consists of say a wednesday and thursday night...who else is available to hang out at 3 am on a wednesday every week?

It happens to a lot of officers, but nowadays they preach and stress having friends outside of this job, but it's important to have friends in it too because often those who aren't can't always empathize with our stressors

Meh. That's just an excuse. Did that for 15 years of my life. Never had weekends off. Still maintained All of my relationships. A good friend is a good friend. No matter what life style changes you go through. Now, if no one cares to put the effort out? Than its just not a friendship worth keeping I guess.

I've been around public service my whole life. Dad retired Firefighter, Mom worked in a hospital, Older sister a nurse, and I was a Dispatcher. There's other things to talk about besides what happened at work. But everyone gets a kick out of the funny stuff.

You only took one day off for an ebola scare? Should be at least 3 weeks of "observation period". :D

I had fever, diarrhea, and vomiting while on business in Mexico last week and all my coworkers joked that I had ebola. I still worked that day :(

Good call. I could use Adobe pro to create a "quarantine" letter with CDC letterhead and get some police tape for my front door. It's halloween, the neighbors will think it's decoration. ;)
