a pry bar should work just fine, you have to spin it a little at a time to find the sweet spot and it will pop right out. People using slide hammers and cables are not rotating the cv and fighting the "c" clip in the wrong position. it's must easier during the install because you can see and align the clip so the opening is facing downward.

and dont keep constant pressure on it while spinning, push it in, rotate 1/6th of a turn and try again. if you keep constant pressure the clip can never drop down allowing easy removal.

My 2014 had this issue right after I put my 3" lift on it. I haven't noticed the noise for a while. The truck only has 15000km on it. Now granted the mud grapplers make a ton of noise but I can't feel it in the floor board.

Should this be something to be concerned about with the noise going away?

What'd you guys use to install the differential oil seal? The big ring one that goes on outside by axle?

    Thank you very much!

If I'm replacing my CV axle also, do I need to do more than only remove the two bolts from LCA?

no, with the brake line bracket, sway bar, and two lower ball joint bolts, you should be able to lift up and knock the cv axle out and then swing the whole assembly to the rear of the wheel well and have plenty of room to work. after the frame was on jacks, i found it much easier to jack up the assembly so there's less binding.

Okay, but the CV axle will just come out of the spindle side, or do I have to try and get it out using a pry bar?

thread the axle nut to the end and I used a block of wood to protect it. hit it till it's free from the spindle and lift the whole assembly out & up. a second person is a big help with this step. there is a good youtube video with a guy doing it on his FJ - same basic principle with our trucks.

also throw the bushing in the freezer for a while.... like when you start working on the truck pop it in the freezer and pull it out just before you are ready to put it in... then a coupla taps and she will go right in.

I just ordered the replacement bushing from ECGS and I'm qondering how long I can expect it to last. Just a little worried since it's replacing the needle bearing with just a bushing. Won't this wear out rather quickly? ('13 TRD OR DCSB by the way)

ECGS states it's a lifetime bushing on their install video.

it should out last the life of the vehicle, if not, it's only $60. I will prolly have to replace higher priced items before the bushing fails.
