I have an off road. I bought it for the toy/truck reason but if I were still hauling and towing farm stuff I wouldn't have sold my diesel. The Tacoma wouldn't cut it. Which is the OP's girls view on his truck.

Break down and cry. That's what I'm doing! All this time I've been telling people "I bought a truck" and it's been a lie. A LIE.

If you were driving a Ridgeline, I would agree it's not a truck. But since it's a Tacoma, it's most definitely a truck.

But the point is, it's very immature of her to refuse to go on the trip he invited her to and have a good time just because "it's not a truck".

Simple technical aspects, and I think many have pointed this out....

    This is a pickup------

    [IMG][IMG]

This is also called a pickup-----

Now THIS is what a TRUCK is-----

So tell her that TECHNICALLY, her F-350 isn't a real truck either.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I consider them a car/truck more than a truck myself. They are comfortable and handle like a car, but have a pretty low payload and towing capacity compared to big trucks. They don't have a real big bed and not many tie down posts. I got both a Tacoma and a 1997 Powerstroke with a 7.3 diesel, I use the Ford for the big jobs, it can haul or tow anything. My Tacoma I baby and use it for commuting or traveling to work and back. I work all over the state so the Tacoma is ideal for getting around without any problems.

Imagine that , a mid sized truck being smaller , and having a smaller payload and towing capacity than a full size truck

My girlfriend LOVES trucks. She is a truck girl, not a Chevy fan but loves my Ford and Toyota. She hates cars with a passion though, would rather be in a four-by.

I can see where she's coming from. A Tacoma has less payload than a Honda Ridgeline and maybe OP's GF just thinks a "real" truck should be able to do this type of hauling:

And yea, it is a dumb thread and we are all dumb for contributing to it I guess.
