    Hello all,

I am out of patience (and $82 closer to broke) with my air conditioner. The unit is always on when the fan is on. Any speed, any temperature on the dial, any of the 5 direction combinations. I even replaced the climate control panel with a junkyard salvage off ebay and it's behaving exactly the same way. Has anyone else had this happen to them? It's only october so it's only going to get colder...

I have the same problem, and my truck has just over 600 miles on the odometer. The minute I turn the fan on, the A/C light comes on and pressing it does nothing.

I tested this morning using the feet-only direction, as some information found on other posts suggest A/C is mandatory on the defrost setting. Same result. Tried all four speeds, varying temperatures, made sure the truck was warmed up etc. Still blew air conditioned air on my feet this morning. I reeeeeeeeeally don't want to take the damn thing in. My truck has 67,000 miles and this is the first mechanical anomaly it's had.

I have the same problem with my 13 TRD. If I turn the heat up 1 notch it goes off. Go figure?

Check this site/owners manual for location of AC relay for your year/model; it may be failed-stuck closed. It's normal for fan-switch being off to shut off ac clutch/relay circuit. Look for another relay of same number on your fuse panel, ignition-off, switch relay's and check op.
Or you could just guess that's it and buy relay to replace.
My WAG is if it's not the ac control (that you replaced) and not the relay, then it's a wiring issue possibly at the a/c clutch is shorted and always on.
If you need to you can unplug the clutch until you can get time, but you will only have heat defrost/defog.
obtw, full counterclockwise which is a detent (Clicks) on the temp control is ac always on (max ac) (ac light on), and ac is on with windshield, combo windshield/feet (clockwise 2 settings) but in this case no a/c light is on.

You guys do realize that if you have the climate controls set to max cold, you cannot turn off the A/C? That's how it's designed and normal operation.
