    After much forum searching, I know less than when I started. :p

    I have 4 Toyota Tacoma 2009 16" 6 lug stock steel wheels.
    I want to use these for snow tires.

    On my 2008 Tacoma now are the alum stock wheels.
    I know the nuts do not interchange.

    Would someone here please give me a good part number for the correct steel lug nuts.
    Not really worried about getting my wheels stolen, so just an ordinary lug nut will do as long as it is the correct fit.

    bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
    And I have stock wheels on my truck, a '11 AC and got a set of TRD Sport Wheels for snow tires, and I need the write lugs nuts for THAT...

    Tacoma Alloy wheel lug nuts do work with the steel wheels, I have had my spare on the ground before. Steel wheel lug nuts might not work on the alloys because the alloy type lug nuts have a shoulder for the wheels to mate to.

    I'm a bit leery of messing up the shoulders on the alloy nuts using them on the steel wheels.
    I'd prefer to buy another entire set of lug nuts, but the more I researched, they less I knew what to get.

    So if the lug nuts for the alloy wheels are different than for the steel wheels, how do you mount the spare which is on a steel wheel if you have alloys on the truck?

    The Alloy lug nut will work on steel wheels.

    The Steel lug nuts will not work for alloy wheels.

    They will work, but temporary. It's better to have the correct steel wheel lug nuts if ur running all 4 steel wheels...

    OK, folks, thanks for all the assistance on the style of lugs nuts. Since I am a cheap b*stard and won't pay $4 a lug nut (4 x 24 is $96), for the mag style and if you use the Dorman 611211 number from Rock Auto, they are $1.17 each, by the box of ten, and you can pay shipping AND a set of new Wagner Thermoquiet rear brakes for about 70% of that cost...

    Now to shop for new snow tires for the nifty used TRD Sport 17" rims...I just got a set of Firestone Winteforce in the 265/70R17 for the jeep, with #12 studs, a second set for the Tacoma to match would be nice...

    This is a pretty important consideration... Cuz when those 2 piece lugs start to swell it can be a nightmare
