Hey guys.I have been a Toyota truck guy since the early 80’s. Unfortunately, none of my pics from back then are digital.

Bought my ’06 Tacoma to tow my open trailer and ’69 Camaro SS396 show car. I really loved that truck in Speedway Blue. It towed the car and trailer from the hills of Vermont to the oval at Indy and never complained.

I needed a bigger truck when I switched to an enclosed car hauler and got the ’10 Rock Warrior Tundra. Great HP and torque plus excellent towing capacity up to 10,000 pounds. But…..terrible gas mileage. I used to get 12 around town and 9 when I towed.

I sold the Camaro and trailer this summer and was just going to use the Tundra as my daily driver. But then I got the bug to get another Tacoma and I pick up my ’15 Blue Ribbon Metallic Monday night.

    Enjoy the sneek peeks.

Congrats looks good, I'd love to have the tundra, but it's just way too big and Id have to rearrange my garage to fit it in... The Tacoma looks better IMO also...

I would love a *1794* Crew Max, but I really like the glove tight feel of the Tacoma size. Op great looking truck, nice wheels, did you work in an even swap on the wheels or something? Looks like you had them installed before delivery.

If you don't mind, what size and brand tire are those? They look larger than stock size.

I was able to work out a deal for the TRD wheels and tires and had them installed before delivery.

The tire size is the same as the TRD OR model. They are P265/70R16 BFG Rugged Terrain T/A. They are the same overall diameter as the stock Sport tires to keep the revolutions the same for the odometer and speedometer. They may look larger because the TRD' s are 16" compared to the Sport stock 17's which are P265/65R17 tires.

Nice looking truck, Speedway blue was such an awesome color and I've always liked those rock warriors. If mpg wasn't so bad on those tundra's I would of bought one of those instead of my taco.

    Thanks.

I think the wheels are around $240 each. Not to be a wise guy but I am not sure what my exact price was because we worked a deal for them. I was not able to order them from the factory when the order was placed, the wheels were still on constraint the beginning of September. They were ordered in by the parts guy and switched out before delivery.

One more question, do the TRD-beadlock style wheels, stick out like this without modification? or did you add wheel spacers?

I wondered that myself. No spacers, just the stock TRD Tacoma wheel with the recommended tire size for that wheel. I am not sure if I like that or not but I do not pick up the truck until tonight. I did not check the back spacing of the TRD wheel compared to the stock TRD Sport wheel. Based on the pics, obviously the TRD's stick out further than the stock Sport. It has to be the back spacing.

Most likely a moot point for me since this is what I ordered and I approved everything before the order was placed.

You know, I made this post to get a response from a variety of folks.

Please provide your reasons that possibly I can consider before purchasing tonight...other than just stating a fact. That would be more benificial to a new guy.

    Thanks.
