When I got my tires, they failed to tell me about my tie rods about to give way and didn't realize that the steering wheel was cocked to the left slightly. They will be replacing them for me and doing another alignment for free, and all I have to do is get the tie rods. I want to get both inner and outer. I was looking at Moog ones, but I wanted to know if they have grease fittings. Anyone have these tie rods?

Stick to OEM if you can afford it. Just a better all around product.

Well I was told that it would be best to get some with grease fittings, but the OEM ones dont have grease fittings. And what is the price difference between the two? $139 shipped from RockAuto for Moogs.

ok so go with Toyota parts, but they are not Toyota brand parts, so now the question is, what brand is the oem Toyota uses?

I want to know rather then go buy it at the dealer so I can get that brand and skip the Toyota price markup

hopefully someone knows the answer to this question

I did the same with rear shocks, for 2wd trucks Toyota uses Monroe shocks and Toyota wanted $55 each, I went to autozone with the Monroe part number right off of the shock found right under the Toyota part number and they were only $24 each for the exact same shock

Luckily, I know a guy that works at Toyota that will cut me some slack on the price of tie rods. I just recently replaced ball joints with Moog ones. Boot doesnt fit properly on the upper ball joint. Is this normal for these? Also, would you guys recommend me putting OEM ones back on? I'd just hate to have wasted money like that.

I just did upper and lower ball joints and the inner and outer tierods. All told I spent a hair over $600 on parts delivered from Toyota.

Considering how bad of luck I've had with Moog and other brands over the years I just bit the bullet and bought OEM.

I don't want to have to do the job twice and I certainly don't want it to fail on a trail somewhere.

When I put moog ball joints in I took the old boots off and put them on the moog joints

Per a large wholesale supplier to auto repair shops, it looks as ifToyota is using Sankei 555 for the tie rods.

One thing to realize is that sometimes the OE supplier may make one part tobe branded under say Toyota that is exactly like the original or is improvedbut the part they make for the aftermarket may be of a different qualityinternally.

Even worse is when you look at Motorcraft parts since they often make twodifferent items one made in N.A. being the exact same quality and appearance asOE then another made in China that is of much lower quality.

Do you remember how much just the inner and outer tie rods were?
