Look into the Curt hitches, you can buy them custom cut for the Tacoma so you don't have to drill anything

I looked at Curt as well. It is around $286 and look very similar to Reese.

Keep looking. I have seen Curt hitches for a lot less than that!

Love my curt hitch. Their wiring harnesses I've had nothing but issues with though.

I would be leary of this add. for 2 rezones

    (1) does not give a class rating on the hitch

    (2) mix and match side plates does not sound inspiring to quality

I just installed one yesterday. Its a Reese pro series from wally world. 115 including shipping.
The box arrived banged up. While installing I realised that a sideplate was bent in about a half inch. Bashed it on the curb to square it up. The install took some wiggling and prying and putting a jack underneath the hitch to get the holes to line up. Finally got the bolts in and started cranking it down.
Thats where the fun started. While the install instructions request that "All M12 bolts to be torqued to 105ft-lb" the factory bolts stretched and snapped. So I replaced them with some grade 8.8s and torqued it to max for the bolt 75ft-lb. The question I have is, Are the factory nuts, welded inside the frame rail, designed to handle the stress?
And why the f would ToMoCo use potmetal bolts to hold the Bumper, which is also "rated" for 5k tow 500lb longue load!?

I bought a Reese Pro Series class 4 from Advanced Auto a couple yrs ago for under a C-note. Ordered online got $50 discount. Went and picked it up when it got there. Torqued bolts to 80 ft lb. No issues, holding up good. Easy 1 person install using a floor jack on a milk crate to hold in place.
