I attempted to go Sunday and failed. I was almost to Carlisle when I had issues with my trailer. I am thinking my trailer brakes locked up on one of the wheels causing the hub studs to break and round out the holes in the wheel. :( Ended up unloading the 85' 4Runner and removing that wheel. Took the truck and trailer home and then went back to get the 4Runner, which I drove about 25-40 mph on some back roads. I have some repairs to do before another trip. :(

Had an electrician in a F-550 bucket truck do some work for me last Thursday afternoon and the rain that morning made my front yard softer than we thought.

He was buried until his rear pumpkin hit the ground and the Tacoma was too light to help him out. Their diesel Ford Excursion yanked him out after a couple tries though.

Here's the Tacoma digging down with all four wheels at once. The rear locker and A-TRAC worked great, but this extraction needed heavier artillery and I sure wasn't going to start jerking at it with a running start.

So Nate I've been wondering did you do the liner around your truck or did a shop do it ? I like it because its a functional 2 tone. Also do you just have it running on the outside or is it on the inside ? I realize it would probably be a pain getting the inside but since that's where rust will start it would be a good place to hit

He used roll on monstaliner. Just did the outside. I was going to do the rockers and bed and underside, but I'm putting it off. I'm selling 2 gallons of monstaliner if you want it.

No it wasn't peeling. He just did it like last month. I could do that. If it stays nice enough to do it.

The only part that peeled is where part of the fender flare got stuck to the board it was sitting on. It dried in place and when it was lifted up a small section pealed off. The more rigid the surface the better it will adhere or at least resist chipping/cracking. I have found the Monstaliner to not be as flexible as a rubber type coating like Linex for instance.

If you end up doing it don't be stingy on the amount of MEK that you pour on top of the mixture when you are between coats. Mine started to set up in the can a little bit between coats so there was a very thin layer on the top that was partially cured. I believe the more humid the air is the faster it will set-up so you might be just fine applying yet this fall but I would still determine optimal temperature for application before trying anything.

Kurt, sorry to hear about your adventures you had on Sunday. At least we got out on Saturday, it was a blast. Thanks again for the ride! For those that couldn't make it here is the "tip of the iceberg" on what you missed out on in Kurt's '85.

Your welcome. Too bad no one got pictures of that one time we rode out the tire in the air 3-4' and about to roll over. :D

I like your comment on the last picture you posted. :) You can almost always count on him falling asleep whether parked or on the trail bouncing all over the place. He has been riding along since he was 1 year old.

Add a possible leaking head gasket on the car to the list.
