Mora is a fairly broad manufacturer. Axes, kitchen knives, outdoors knives, etc,.

    yea..checked out the website. amazing.

i think i am gonna get the same knife as Seabass. looks like a great all around profile. not to blunt, not to pointy. if i had one complaint about the Mora Companion..it is kinda overly pointy for my deer gutting purposes. i let one cut go a tad wild and i nicked the stomach. hate when i do that.

Check out the Helle Temagami, too. I really liked that model, but this one dropped in price so much that I couldn't pass it up.

No problem. The Temagami CA is fantastic, and one I've had in my cart for a while waiting to swoop on it if the price drops (hoping some slimy marketplace reseller goes in and underbids everyone on Amazon before Helle notices)

well..my wife says i cant hang out with you anymore :D hahahha..

i just ordered the temagami CA. from Amazon. i was about to buy that one off of ebay for $154, but my spidey senses were tingling. the handle looked "off" and he pictured the knife with the lettering on the backside. why would he do that? and he said the knife was new..but he clearly took it out to take the picture and he said "i looks like it was never used, but i cannot be sure"..

i'll pay a few bucks more from amazon..to ease the return if i need it.

thanks for the recommendation. i'm sure my Mora will still do the nasty dead deer works..but damn..the Temagami is sick..less than half a pound as well!! (mora is 0.25lbs..sick backpack knife)

You've made a wise choice, both with the knife selection and who to buy it from. You're safe with Amazon, and you know you'll have a brand new knife still in the tube.

What is the purpose of that blade shape?

That's what I was thinking. Not a design that I see as practical over other blade types of this size. It looks cool and original, but do they pitch it as some sort of benefit or special use?

You also can't buy them directly from the makers website. Well you could if anything was in stock.

Probably more accurate than my guess. :)

Looks cool in a Sweeney Todd straight razor kind of way, but I imagine it's probably more suited to being opened repeatedly in a YouTube video and then sold more than it is for EDC stuff.

Stout looking, though. Definitely one of those knives that photograph well.

    Morakniv? Mora Knives?

If that's the one you're talking about, then yes, they're very light. I have a couple at the house. I even have a couple of their kitchen knives. They hold up to abuse nicely.

I have a Mora Robust, I know they're super light, I guess I was asking because 1/4 lb seemed much heavier than they feel in hand.

I'd guess a standard Companion would be 1/6 lb? Great knives, I wish they made a FFG version.

Well-said. It would look great in a shadow box or display case, but I just don't see the practicality to the design. I'm more into knives for their usability, not their photogenic qualities. But hey, to each their own.

to many to list, check the build thread
same thing happened to me with my ZT 0566, had a rattle inside the handle and emailed bladeHQ and they referred me to ZT direct because they said they could only replace my knife if it hadn't been used, i said well i have had it in my pocket for a couple weeks and they said no can do, talk to ZT.

Yup, I won't deal with BladeHQ anymore due to this. It's a shame their customer service department won't handle minor warranty issues.

But on a brighter note, my Protech TR-3 showed back up today. :woot:

Protech even redid the black coating on the handle where a section had worn off under the pocket clip. I'm very impressed with their customer service.
