The same shit everyone else has.
This is from over the weekend

Started working on the underhood lighting -

    4D4690F0-271A-4EDB-9EB1-83BE83105997_zps_4e42f01e3516da56a1adad50c30be86e242406f9.jpg

Wired what would be the DRLs to come on with the parking lights -

    9BEA03B7-B64B-4E39-9D72-E4F924C57C02_zps_4cb955bd75f0332ba3d2235a453439d8626a968e.jpg

(dont mind the clear LED side marker bulbs, they are getting replaced with amber ones)

And messed with the bed light switch -

    E2747188-BD68-49D8-9931-1A2DAD1D0775_zps_f899d15fa9d06e370866918c5033a5f42dab8d13.jpg

The lighting makes it look weird. I do need to clean the gasket up though.

So with the bed light switch, if you are doing something with the tailgate down, does that mean that the lights are on the whole time or is the switch manually operated too?

The switch is a factory VW trunk light switch. It works on the ground circuit. When the switch isnt pressed, it completes (closes) the ground circuit. When its pressed (tailgate shut), it breaks (opens) the ground circuit. The switch has a catch on it as you can see below, which allowed you to press it in and lock it in the open position, keeping the lights off when the tailgate is opened.

I went this route over a simple pin switch or toggle switch or combination of both. I wanted to be able to set the lights to come on when the tailgate was dropped and be able to turn them off as well when I wanted to keep the tailgate down for what ever reason.

I love them already, take the corners so much better. I'm going to check the psi tomorrow and see what they were set at by the shop. You are one of the big reasons I looked at them, if I get 70k I'll be floored. So glad I went with that tire and that size.

Thanks for the info. This is also on my short list of things to do. I had always wondered if there were a switch made that could do just that. Good to know there is.
