I'm wondering about that too. I asked that in the thread but it's a pretty old thread so idk if I'll get a response.

Nicole's dad has talked about welding galvanized before. He said you just drink milk before so it coats your stomach. Idk...

I was always told the fumes that come off were not good for you. Now I was also told a little won't affect you but what's a little?

The milk idea is a thought but ummm :notsure:

O I have two batteries in my truck now. I'm not finished but they are in and the truck runs. Fingers crossed for no :bananadead:

Well from what I just read there are no long term health risks from welding galvanized. Just flu like symptoms for 24 hours if you breath in too much of the gases.

I think Ill swap to flux core wire and weld outside with a box fan blowing the fumes away from me.

You don't need to weld it anyways just use some couplings to piece together pieces and connectors to mount the conduits with :D

Okay so my gas guage is stuck on the E line but i learned tonight if I go past that point and on the guage works and so does the empty light. That being said does anybody with experience with the gas tanks know what I might of screwed up in the tank. If I pop the dent out of the tank is possible it will fix it?

I don't know much about them but if you drop the tank and remove the sending unit or pump or whatever it is, I'd imagine there will be a float like in a toilet tank. Except probably in a tube or something. There's a possibility it could be stuck in such a way that it can't raise above the e line. I really don't know though.

I figure if I pop the dent out, the "float" or whatever it is could read correct again :notsure: I guess it's just something I'll have to figure out when I get around to pulling the bed to reinforce the frame

Have the same issue with my gas gauge. Shows full after filling up, goes to half a tank after 20 miles and stays there. Low fuel warning still works though.

BoxRocket and a few others have had it happen. He just ignored it, but some of the research I've done shows that there was a recall for it on 4Runners of the same generation. It could either be the sending unit in the tank, or a grounding issue.

Never thought about it being caused from me slamming my tank skid up into my tank though.... Did happen after a long weekend of wheeling.
