my mistake on saying it was an ams supercharger, the previous owner, friend of my dads, works for ams so i assumed it was an ams supercharger. will try to get engine pictures and a dyno sheet as soon as possible.

oh i totally understand man, just making a point that i would want proof before i made a move to something that could be real costly in the long run. And that 725 is a 200hp increase over stock. New pulley, full exhaust and a good tune is probably close to the 650-675 range. Like i said not trying to rain on the mans parade.

Sweet man! I appreciate you not getting butt hurt about my post. I mean if you financially stable enough to maintain and keep the car up and afford repairs. Do what you really want to do, after all your the one driving it everyday.

Just remember that car cost nearly 100k new, so replacement parts will be priced accordingly. Definitely not the car for a poor college student. A toyota truck is though. Cheap to maintain, reliable, etc. If you had the cash for the merc i would tell you to buy it in a heartbeat, but if you think you're going to come out ahead $ wise in the end, you are crazy.

Exactly what I said. When something goes on this car it ain't gonna be a pretty penny. For those miles and it's mods I don't think buying it is a wise choice for your situation.
Yeah it's gonna be fun driving it and stuff but look into the long run, you're selling a reliable truck for that

    Two words: Money pit.

It's not a matter of if, it's when you are going to get hit with a huge repair bill.

The car may be selling for 20% of what it did when it was new or even less....there's a very good reason for that. Parts and labor don't get cheaper.

I once owned a Lotus Turbo Espirit, and sounded just like you when I got it. That lasted about a month.

Keep the truck. I've sold several trucks to buy cars. I always go back to driving trucks. Just sold my BMW X3 to get the Tacoma. Loved to drive the BMWs but didn't like paying someone else $120 per hour for labor to do maintenance that I should have been able to do. They have built the German cars so that it's very difficult for an owner to do their own maintenance. Their electronics are very complicated and often require a trip to the dealer to diagnose. I also didn't like having to get the trailer every time I wanted a sheet of plywood from the hardware store. I'm sure the Benz is a fun car to drive but it will be very expensive to own long term.

in car biz for long time and high line as well,
stay away from that car, might look and drive very nice but big money pits
that car will cost you your wallet and theirs always a reason someone is selling. trust me your buddy is selling it for reason, that mileage is very high for a high line car and the big repair bills are right behind it.

even if you wrench yourself it still will cost a ton as European parts cost 3 times as much and need special tools to replace/install them

Damn nice car. But like the rest mention. An poor college kid does not need an fast expansive car that will cost an kidney and an arm to fix later on. I see no problem if you actually have an good paying stable job with extra for saving account each month.

Then again. I mostly go 3 mile above the speeding limit and love the outdoor where there wont be much people around. You know which one I voted for :bananadance:

So long as it's a G-Class and not a GL-Class, you're good. Solid axles with lockers front and rear.
